Acronyms and the dangers from not knowing what they mean.

LGBT is an initialism, not an acronym.

Good to know, Thanks Prof. :)

What the Wiki say's
LGBT, or GLBT, is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. In use .... However, the inclusion of straight allies in the LGBT acronym has proven controversial as many straight allies have been accused of using LGBT

Now I'm even more .

Not an acronym but I read product names a lot but never heard anyone say them. Like Asus is A-Zeus, I thought it was eh-suss...

I've always said the A like I hurt myself and soos. I imagine how it sound's depends on where you are. I've got cousins up in Manchester, Yorkshire and Sunderland so I'll have to see how they all say it at the next family event, I hope it's not a funeral.

This forum (a TECH forum) used to block FTW because back in the 1970's it meant something offensive lol.
I thought it was blocked here for similar reasons to cool story jesus , people here over use everything and it got stupidly annoying because every post had ftw in it :p

LGBT has been known for a while (my uni had an LGBT club and that was in 1998), but what does confuse me is when they change the last letters e.g. LGBTQ or LGBTI or LGBTQIA etc. It should stick to the one term tbh.

The LOL one I've always known it as laugh out loud, again 1998 for me when I first got online at uni.

Yeah, id as in the psychological id.

Americans call it eh'd.

Hear them say details? di tales, not dee tales. Or eye raq instead of eh raq. ¬¬
