Active or Passive 3d

My Sony is active and I tried to watch Avatar the other day and couldn't. It was early afternoon and too bright and the flickering made it unwatchable.

I don't really use 3D much, in fact I'm lucky if I use it once every 2-3 months.

I wouldn't buy a tv based on which 3D it uses tbh, but other far more important features would come first.

I'm not saying it is rubbish it's just that most people wouldn't use it often, they may think they will but you won't, there is only a handful of titles that are actually worth viewing in 3D.

I actually find 3D a bit "lost" at home, and find 2D a smoother/crisper experience.

Harsh, way to kick a guy in the balls when he's down :D

As it turns out there has been a turnaround in fortunes somewhat. Did some more scouring of the Internet and found a site that will remain unnamed for obvious reasons that had the 3D version at the same price as everywhere else but with a £40 off voucher bringing it down to a tasty £600 including postage. A slight bit more than the £514 I paid the rainforest people but at least this unit is brand new. Thread resurrected ;)

So what model TV did you get in the end, and how do you rate it ?
