Hi all,

I currently have 4GB of the old G Skill ripjaw ram, with C8 timings.

If I added say the 8gb of Kingston Grey (to fit underneath my heatsink) on offer would they run ok together? Being different timings and maybe voltages?

Or should I just scrap the 4gb kit and use 8? I dont really mind either way but i suppose 12 is always better than 8 right? :P

not necessarily, if they are rated the same speed, timings etc, then yes, they are fine together

if they are not, you may as well sell the 4gb and just use 8gb as the slower sticks will hold up the faster ones which isnt good

What 8GB set would you suggest I go for considering the above? Aiming for around £60 max if possible

Scrap the 4GB and buy a set of 8GB, this can be had for £36 all in.

G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V

:)

It can?? Unless I'm totally blind the cheapest GSkill kit I can see is £47.99 and climbing upwards for the other sets?

Ordered the G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz RipjawsX Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V.

Cheaped out on the delivery to keep it low...damn prices to NI are always a rip :@

Most prob means at another online store, cheapest ive seen them in £37.

I did the same! ;)

It's decent quality ram mate, I have no issues with my cpu running at 4.0Ghz with it.

Thats good to hear. Did you run it at the 1.5V? Or is that only really for sandybridge setups?
