Have a Samsung 840 256gb as os drive, 2x1tbs hdds for storage, a 2nd ssd crucial m4 128 gb for games. That all runs fine.

Wanted to add another ssd sandisk 128gb(for music)that I had spare - been upgrading a few people's hdd's for ssd's.

The problem arises when I attempt to add the 3rd ssd the system will not post whatsoever it just hangs. I can't even get into bios, if I hit f2 it will cycle thru the sata ports listing what drives are in which ports until it gets to the port that the sandisk is in then hangs.

Weirdly, the ssd works fine when put in another pc, I've just installed win7 on it in a laptop.

Tried it in different sata ports to no avail.
Tried it brand new untouched- didn't work, tried installing win7 on it in my laptop then plugging it in pc again(but not as a boot drive) still just hangs.

Mobo is r3e. The Samsung & crucial are in the sata3 ports.

Anyone have any suggestions what to do next?

Cheers

Yes latest bios & drivers.

Could this be the problem guys?

They both show exactly the same location could this be the cause why pc doesn't boot with both drives connected.
The only way i got the sandisk to show up was insert into a hot-swap bay when pc was already booted up.
The crucial m4 (which works fine along side the samsung) show a different location - target id 1 instead of 0 on the other 2.
