Adding RAM

Aye, they should run fine - however is your existing Vengeance kit rated at CL8 or CL9. If it is CL9 then you can go with this cheaper kit and still match perfectly.

That said, if your system is overclocked you may need to redo your overclock when you start using all 4 memory slots - since more stress is being put on the memory controller on the CPU.
 
Yes they should run fine.. Check the timings and voltages.. the timings will need to run at the looser latency (higher numbers).

If you are considering selling on your existing kit then I would strongly suggest going for this 8GB kit, it is cheaper, a great performer and you will never have any issues with large CPU coolers.
 
Should work fine. Although usually you have to loosen timings, you might still be able to get quite good latency. With my Ripjaws 2xC7 and 2xC8, I can still push it to 1600MHz 7-8-7-21 1T @ 1.5v even though they're rated at 1.65v.
 
Cant I simply just replace the one I linked with my old 4gb? I cba with all the changing etc I dont mind that its abit more expensive

Aye, if he is swapping out the RAM for a 8GB kit (2x4GB) and selling on the 4GB kit - so still just using 2 RAM slots at the same frequency then the OC will be fine. The only issue would arise if he installs all four memory modules at the same time (even if they are the same frequency) as the extra stress on the memory controller will likely require tweaking of the overclock.

Overclocking on these P67 boards is crazy easy - so doing a few tweaks to get the OC stable with 4 sticks shouldn't be too tough and the reward is 12GB of RAM.
 
Ok I shall just sell the 4gb , its almost brand new anyways , and install the 8gb in the same 2 slots.

*edit* if it is rly easy to adjust the overclock then I might think about trying to install the 12gb of ram in 4 slots , but I have never OC'd or adjusted a OC before and I dont rly wanna mess it up

dont neccesarilly think its easy to change an OC, but there are lots of guides around, im sure you could find some info. you could always try it with the full 12gb, and if it doesnt work in testing then sell on the 4gb. no point hedging your bets already on it not working! you might get it working out the box!
