Adding sata ports

So my mobo has 4 sata ports and I am using them all.

I would like to add additional 4 ports and use them for a SW raid. Is something like this okay or would I be better looking at mini SAS?

Either should do but the pcie card will have much higher bandwidth to each drive .

My understanding in the description it's states plug in play then further down supported operating systems.

Linux with kernel 2.6.x and above
