Adidas. Just WOW!

Where I can understand that some people might get 'upset' over this, it's clearly a mistake.

Personally, I don't have an issue with it. We can't stop using common phrases because of terrorism.

Yes, but they made a mistake, people are human and it happens. Everyone is too quick to take things personally and get massively offended over what is a genuine mistake.

There's no evidence it was a genuine mistake, I'm pretty sure as an American when you think of the Boston marathon, that attack comes straight to the front of your mind, the wording seems pretty evident they knew what they were doing.

I mean people sometimes die of heart attacks during marathons, it just seems a weird way to congratulate runners when so many other phrases could have been used instead.

They've put out a press release apologising for the mistake. You can't seriously think that it was intentionally sent out like that as an actual reference to the bombing?

Because it's referring to one of the world's most grueling marathons and most people are smart enough to see that and not be offended?
It's referring to a marathon that just a few years ago was subject to a horrendous attack that killed people and is still subject to heightened security. Different phrasing really isn't hard to come by...

They were always going to have to issue an apology, mistake or not. I don't know, I don't know who created that title, their sense of humour, how much they value their position at the company or what state of mind they're in.

So It's OK to survive the London Marathon, but not the Boston one?

I think you'd have to be deliberately awkward not to see how awful the choice of wording is. Yes - I would bet that somebody will be fired for that.

I had to read it 3 times before I "got it". And that was only because I'm looking for it and remembering the past. I hate the acceptance now that people can be offended at anything and therefore we must alter our behaviour so the world bends around them.

Offensive? Your response is an example of why WW3 will happen. Human natures response these days is to take offence to everything.. And if you have the power flex your missile power. Try run a marathon then see how that reads to you.
