Hey does anyone know of a shaver which lets you select the depth that it will cut?

I remember seeing an advert for one about a month back that said something like "let's you manage how much stubble you have whether you like 2mm or trimming your beard" but I really can't remember anything about it. Maybe Wilkinson's Sword but their website only has a beard trimmer.

Basically I want a shaver that will let me shave down to about 1 day's worth of stubble (1-2mm) everyday as I quite like that look on me. Any ideas?

Thanks

I always use hair clippers for stubble with no grade clip on.
I just go round my head with grade 1 then take clip off and go round me chops :D

but without the combs how would you be able to control the depth and precision of the cut?

Im pretty sure i saw an ad for a shaver that could do this

They usually have an adjuster on the bare blade. The guard is tapered and it moves the cutter back and forward. the closer to the front the shorter the stubble.

I just bought a new Remington one today to replace my Philips jobbie and it's excellent. Much lighter than hair clippers, no cord to get in the way, plus unlike hair clippers used guardless the blade doesn't get hot after a while.

Link

Plenty of shorter crop lengths.

EDIT

It does:

1.5mm
2.5mm
4mm
5.5mm
7mm
9mm
11mm
14mm
18mm

I shaved on a number 3 today and it's plenty close for my liking.

I saw a ‘designer stubble kit’ in Superdrug a while ago, I can’t remember who made it sorry, but it was a well know make.

Christ, there's a billion of them.

Thanks though I think that's pretty much what I'm looking for.

Just out of curiosity, have you or anyone tried the designer stubble kit available there? If so, does it work better than the beard trimmer? I can't imagine why they'd separate the two since they seem to essentially do the same thing.

Not as new as the i-trim, but I also have a babyliss for men with adjuster for stubble. Shortest when i'm at work, and a few mm longer at the weekend.

I use a Philips beard trimmer thingy which has a whole bunch of different attachments. Used it for a good year and a half now and its still going well.

Avoid the Braun Cruzer though, I had one of those before and despite being aimed at those who want to style their facial hair, it was actually useless and after a few months didn't even trim anything.

I used to use a clipper...but i used to break out in spots(the oil on the clipper?)...shame, because it used to work well!
