Hi everyone.

As the title says,

SATA,
Samsung 250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6GBPS 32 LAYER 3D V-NAND

Vs

M.2,
Crucial MX300 275GB SSD M2 2280 6GBPS 3D NAND
Kingston 240GB SSDNOW M.2 G2 SATA 6GBPS

- the speeds advertised are about the same, similar price as well. Crucial uses a similar technology to the Samsung, if I understand correctly (V-NAND vs 3d NAND?), plus offers 25GB extra. Do they follow similar reliability/durability for ongoing writing?

Here is my Crucial M.2 275GB SATA 6GPBS disk mark run, fitted in a M.2 caddy as a portable drive and the run is over a USB3 cable.

m2 is a form-factor, sata is an interface. An m2 SSD can be using sata as it's interface, or it can be using faster options. If you buy an m2 drive that uses sata as it's interface then performance will be very similar to other sata drives.

In general I'd go m2 anyway even if just sata as it's small, doesn't make much cable clutter etc.
