Advice on getting rid

Just eBay it with some decent large pictures and an honest description, and it'll be gone within the week. I've used eBay to sell many cars and never had a problem once you filter through the cash 2day m8 crowd.

The wheels will hopefully be a draw as they look new :)

I reckon that BMW would look 100x worse when clean, hence why it clearly hasn't seen a sponge for years.

Just bang it on ebay, spare or repairs with some decent pictures. I would be happy with £300 if i was you, given the exterior condition and needing some work done to it. You can pick up some good examples with a years ticket for £1k for example.

I live on a tiny island and the cars over here don't look like that..

Picture of my RX8 when it was about 11 years old

Its a common problem with E46....The wings are the first to go....When I took it the body shop couple of years back the bloke says he does hundreds of replacement e46 wings....

I can get the brakes done for £232...Its just had two new shocks done in October last year along with the front bushes etc...

But I think now the time is to get something smaller and newer...

I could tart it up like I did here couple of years back

Silver Hammerite on the rust and a clean... Would would it be worth it?

Seems like you consider cleaning the car to be 'tarting it up'. This is why it's rotten as a pear, nothing to do with the sea.

No I kept the car clean....The salt on the roads the sea mist are not good for E46..Also factoring in its a weak point of the design...Crap gets trapped in between the wing and the inner lining and the cars rusts from the inside out...

All cars rust...Just look at any 14 year old Mazda MX5 :p

I don't buy it tbh, a friend actually bought a mk2 mx5 from a seaside town and it's not rotten. I've been to coastal places loads of times, you don't see the places littered with rusted out cars.

Yes I know all about it, my sisters one has some bubbling, almost all of them do but that's all it typically is, not a huge area of exposed rust. Don't think I've ever seen one with the rear arches/sills gone.

Eh?:p

What are you on about then....Once bubbles appear its a losing battle....The rust will soon break through...No matter of cleaning will improve it...:p Its only a matter of time...Sea mist only acts as a catalyst...

Just get rid... but please dont buy a mini, i would rather keep the BMW even if it was a death trap.

Standard stuff with e46

The car is 14 years old...

Yeah I'll give it a clean...state the brakes and eBay it...

The two fronts seats would make a great pair of pc chairs though :p

My Saab 9-5 was Scotland delivered and spent a lot of its life on the coast. I am on the coast too and apart from a couple of bubbles on the rear arches the rest is spotless. It has also done nearly 130k+ as well.

Yeah that car has been left to rot. I've never seen anything like it and I lived in a coastal town too.

Regardless, he's done with it and wants to move it on, and for that purpose I can only echo what others have said: honest description, ebay.

Don't do the Hammerite route as that'll only **** people off when they see it in the flesh.
