Long short story, I live in a block of flats for many years and most of people that live here are nice and respectful but now we have a new neighbour that is quite annoying and disrespectful.

Playing loud music until 3am, leaving leaking rubbish bags outside the flat on the communal area, doing renovation work on weekends, etc etc...
Many neighbours already complained to the person, to the council and to the police but nothing happened.

It came to our attention that this person came to UK from Portugal after Brexit February 2021, the person never been to UK before but managed to get a indefinite leave to remain, national insurance number and etc...
The person provided fake information to the immigration through some solicitors, paid around £2000 and got all done.
(This came to our attention via a common friend)

I never had a problem with the person as I live on the opposite side of the block but one of my neighbours that live on top of this person and is most affected by the noises is considering reporting.

Would you report? if you were the person that lives on top...
If so, to who?

I opened this thread expecting "he's building a monstrosity of a garage and I'm jelly of his cars"... I'm leaving disappointed

I never had a problem, but my friend had... I'm not going to report... but I'm asking what my friend asked me.
My friend = neighbour that lives on top of the person.

I rephrased the question
I’d still advise you to stay out of it. I appreciate it’s your friend is having the issue but it’s their fight, not yours. Unless of course you’re friend is tidy and you’re harbouring hopes of coitus. In that case don’t report to anyone, just stand and bang. :p

I find this very disrespectful to the Portuguese man. Immigrants of all legalities are welcome to live and work here. He should be provided with healthcare, legal representation and some free housing too to get him started. The system is really unfair & you should not be singling him out like this.

Yeh I agree, how terrible of you. Racist ;)

Absolutely report if true.

I had issues with a neighbour in a flat. Ended up who's hifi was louder. Speakers pointed down on the floor worked. When I left the flat someone poured live crickets though his letterbox, man they can sing.

Go onto your council's website about excess noise - try to record it from your flat. With the rubbish, take photos of it and submit them to either housing association, council or flat management company - depending who the tenant pays rent/service charges to.

Had a couple of families down my road that put non recycling stuff into the recycling bin - which council will not empty if they can see this and tons of rubbish outside their communal front door. They got warnings as there's CCTV by their communal front door. Yet they denied doing it! Even the housing officer showed me the CCTV images - unsure was he allowed to do that or not. One good thing that comes from working in a supermarket nearby is I recognise more people than if I did working at another job. Even got their names as one left her card at work and another time - some post of one of them was posted at my address.

Selfish, lazy people need to be told that their behaviour is unacceptable. Dumping rubbish like this is classed as anti social behaviour.

A tip is less than a mile from here and no need to book a slot anymore. Got rid of some cardboard, broken electrical items etc last week and it took me 15 mins from driving to the tip, getting rid of stuff and driving home. If I can do this - then the tenants who both have cars can do the same.

If you’ve not witnessed anything then you add absolutely nothing to your friend/neighbours case.

You can offer a sympathetic ear but little otherwise…

 lolling out loud. For sure right? I mean what kind of name is Drangueos? It may as well be João.

It is an anagram of something else.... oh nvm.. you probably don't know what that means :D

Funny how you got the name João spelled right even with the thing over the A... are you portuguese?

If your friend has evidence rather than hearsay then they should report it and provide that evidence to the Home Office.

The evidence was the person's partner actually told him how to do it and how much was to get it done... they were trying to show off how clever they are dodging the system.

This sounds like the sort of thing people just make up and spread Chinese whispers about.

How could anybody know this?
