Advice on how to deal with a bad neighbour...

This sounds like the sort of thing people just make up and spread Chinese whispers about.

How could anybody know this?

the person's partner actually told him how to do it and how much was to get it done... they were trying to show off how clever they are dodging the system.

Some people are stupid, they do stupid things and like to show off
Like gang members posting on social media when doing crimes and etc

All affected neighbours need to get together and work out who is affected and how. Those affected should then log events as they happen, taking photos, videos and audio recordings as evidence.

If you're recording, try and get the time and date from a reliable source - such as your TV guide on the Sky box. Other time sources can be tampered with, for example clocks, mobile phones and even TV recordings paused.

If you did it, it's highly unlikely you would be bragging about it to the locals.

Well highly unlikely, but not impossible...

Finally some good advice, I've told my friend before to make videos showing his tv guide and time.

Absolutely report if true.

I had issues with a neighbour in a flat. Ended up who's hifi was louder. Speakers pointed down on the floor worked. When I left the flat someone poured live crickets though his letterbox, man they can sing.

Someone.. right? ;)

Where do you get a bunch of live crickets? asking for a friend... literally
(I know you can buy online, as pet food etc)

I've had the same neighbours for 30 years until recently and I had to go round and politely ask the new neighbour to silence their chiming clock. :D Not exactly anti social but I could hear it chime every half our and then chime repeatedly on the hour. She was very nice about it and said her dad winds the thing up every time he visits but it's now silent.

people don't realise how thin the walls are if your quiet :)
I don't think my neighbours realise I hear almost everything... without even trying.

I know the guys name, I hear him winging and crying about losing at fifa like the other person is cheating or something

Grown man btw.

sometimes he nips out to walk a dog and I hear buzzing sounds of pleasure from the bathroom lol.......

there's a point where you feel like you know more about your neighbours than their own partners do....

if my neighbours are too noisy and annoying I blast music for 5mins so they realise how much the sound travels, they usually don't get it when they first move in.

Tell your friend to get some bagpipes, my neighbours stopped making noise pretty quickly when I did.

Long short story, I live in a block of flats for many years and most of people that live here are nice and respectful but now we have a new neighbour that is quite annoying and disrespectful.

Playing loud music until 3am, leaving leaking rubbish bags outside the flat on the communal area, doing renovation work on weekends, etc etc...
Many neighbours already complained to the person, to the council and to the police but nothing happened.

It came to our attention that this person came to UK from Portugal after Brexit February 2020, the person never been to UK before but managed to get a indefinite leave to remain, national insurance number and etc...
The person provided fake information to the immigration through some solicitors, paid around £2000 and got all done.
(This came to our attention via a common friend)

I never had a problem with the person as I live on the opposite side of the block but one of my neighbours that live on top of this person and is most affected by the noises is considering reporting.

Would you report? if you were the person that lives on top...
If so, to who?

doubtful they faked anything, I’m currently supporting my fiancée visa to live in the U.K. and everything in the application is checked thoroughly and there is a lot of documentation needed to back up everything that U.K. immigration requires

Your case is different, you are supporting another person.

I doubt they check every person that applied for the settled status, as far as I remember I didn't have to provide any documents, I just filled the online form and my settled status came 2 days later BUT at the time of my application I had been working and paying income tax on the same company for more than 5 consecutive years

As far as I know the person lied on the application saying that came here before the Brexit but in fact came here in Feb 2021

I don't have many details on the case, as my friend told me all this.
I'm not reporting anyone, as all this came to my ears from other people, I showed my friend this thread and told him to make up his mind.

I don't think my neighbours realise I hear almost everything... without even trying.

in the early 2000s my youngest daughter had a drumkit and went for lessons so I thought I'd go round to my neighbour and explain that if it does his head in to bang on the wall.
He asked how loud will they be so I stood one daughter in the back garden to shout up at Shell to play her drums while me and the neighbour sat in his living room.
I then looked out of the window and said "Tell Shell play her drums" and she said "She is playing them" :)
We couldn't hear a thing.
Since 1983 the only thing I've heard coming from his house is when he sneezes, he has a very loud sneeze.
