I know for a fact, that building my car was quite expensive, and to get it right took a long time.
In fact its over 7 years since I purchased the chassis and body, and I STILL have work to do on it!
I would not recommend starting a kit with the idea of 'cheap as possible' personally
Have a budget yes, but dont for one minute think it will be a cheap car.. If you build it cheap, it will probably be shoddy
The price list is on their website, but a quick bit of work puts chassis, suspension , body work and windscreen at ~£4000. You will need a Sierra for parts, and will need other things like an exhaust, wiring loom, lights etc...
Personally I would go for a Zetec if I were building new today. A bike engine is fantastic fun, but is a little too frantic for every day use...
seen a few about for around 6k so the search goes on.
one just went at auction the fisher fury for 10K but it looked amzing with its digital dash and glossy black finish!
