I have 2 1tb Samsung f3s coming soon and i want to set them up in raid 0

I've never been bothered to raid before but with his price of these i thought id try.

I wont have problems setting them up "touch wood" but ive been reading about short stroking them to speed them up even more.

As i understand it ill have a 2gb drive after they are raided, and if i put say a 500gb partition to operate as the OS and a few key apps on it that should occupy the outer edges of the HDs and essentially give the best reading speeds?

Am i right in thinking the above? Is 500gb partition too big?? should i do a 250gb partition? (40gb for windows and apps and 100 for steam folder few more games)

Should i have gotten 2x 512gb drives really 2 tb seems a massive overkill
with no redundency i wont store anything critical on the raided disks so ive essentially wasted a ton of HD.... i think i answered my own question there.:D
