My last thread was a bit crap as I sort of didn't know or help anyone with what I wanted.

After looking over a few threads I see it's best to sort of put what you want to do and have a bit of an idea with what I want.

Ok, so some little bits about what I want it for:

- £900 max amount! Got a monitor, OS, Keyboard/Mouse/Speakers
- To be used for BF3, WoW, CoD:MW3, various old games.
- Will be doing video editing of games

What I want from the computer:

- Preferably not a LED beast of a case, also don't want it to be TOO big
- SSD, with a 320/500GB HDD. Hopefully I can get WoW/MW3/W7 on the SSD
- Not really fussed about colours within the case as no one will see them!
- i5-2500K seems to be what all the gaming machines are specced with? I would also like to overclock this to probably about 4.00GHZ. Is this easy enough also, if anything else if needed to run this well, then just add it in and I'll look
- Future proofing for at least a couple of years! I understand this is usually quite hard with components being released all the time... :)

I think that's probably about it for now. If I've missed anything then just give me a shout and I'll do my best to get you an answer asap.

Also, when do the weekly deals come out, should I wait until then to ask for a spec?

Thanks for looking :)

could swap the case to the zalman z9 if you like the look better.

mobo is a gen 3, but doesn't have x8 x8 crossfire/sli so if you want that would need to look at something like the Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3.

this week only, really depends if you see anything that will help with the spec at the time, if you don't then wait til the next one is up, fairly certain its weds pm when it changes, but wait for someone to confirm that if you want to wait.

Not really too fussed with Crossfire/SLI for the minute. I think I'd quite like a nVidia card, as my brother had a ATI card and had nothing but problems with it.

How much would it cost for the SSD to be a 128GB?

crucial m4 is £155 for 128gb.

options nvidia wise are :

560 ti at £180 ish or
570 £240 for the msi.

obviously the changes depend on what you see as a priority over :

1) budget
2) bigger ssd
3) graphics levels , do you need/want 1920x1080 full AA and full AF to enjoy your games (560 ti would allow for the bigger ssd, keep in budget etc)

I can think of a couple,

1) seems to oc well indeed judging by the above reviews
2) UK warranty/repair center so you dont have to waste ~£20 sending it to another country.
3) dualBIOS is a life saver:)

What would be best I think is to break my current build down (got 2x 500GB HDD's, which I guess I should use for now and just buy something much better when the prices come down)? I also have a Q6600, which I've never overclocked - is it definitely worth upgrading to the i5-2500K?

I think they're pretty much the only good bits I've got in my current computer!

might be worth taking this mobo over the gigabyte one: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-198-MS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1990

£79.15 with the MSI cashback thing thats going on (check the news, deals and special offers section)

*edit*
also, if your going for a 560Ti then it might be worth checking this one out: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-267-AS&groupid=701&catid=1914&subcat=1341
for £20 extra you get a much better cooler, Battlefield 3 and batman: arkham city

do you know which stepping the q6600 is ?

if its a g0 version (d/l and check with cpu-z), get a 3rd party cooler and see how well it overclocks first.

It's a G0, but I have no idea about what I'd need to OC it to, and what I'd need for it. I'm just wondering whether it's worth selling all this stuff off to go towards a new computer? :) If so, then I may have a bit more - which would be nice!
