Looked kind of interesting, but I was most surprised they're sticking to medieval era, AoE 2 DE has just come out so would've been a good time to try something different. The graphic style and camera reminded me a lot of the cancelled "kings and castles" RTS
Agreed. Had the same thoughts watching that.

It's a business decision at the end of the day, AOE2 was the best and most successful game so Microsoft who are ploughing the money into this will want to keep to what works.

Looks quite good. Too early to say how it'll turn out right now but the building style is instantly recognisable.

Trailer looks good for pre-alpha footage, it does look a bit too colourful/vibrant but there should be ways to tone this down.

How well does DE run? My graphics card is an ancient ATI 5770 I'm not sure how much demand DE puts on the GPU.Anything AoE is an instant buy from me.

The minimum spec suggests an intel HD3000. According to userbenchmark your card is 508% better than that - should be ok!
AOE 1 + 2 remastered in 4K are both on PC Xbox Game Pass now for free just downloading them

Yup, AOE4 will be on gamepass. What an absolute bargain the gamepass has been and with AOE4 on it too, it will be even more so
If it is any good I will buy it on steam. Loved AoE3.
