Age of Mythology: Retold

If you have gamepass its on there. I've enjoyed it for what it is but as much as I loved Age of Mythology 22 years ago, times have moved on and things like Gates of Hell have raised the bar for what I expect from these sorts of "RTS". Its a nice trip down memory lane but not one I'd spend money on (beyond it being on gamepass)

I will buy it for my steam collection. Trouble is all the keys that are a decent price are for Microsoft's store. **** that. Steam or nothing for me.

Ah cheers, I dropped gamepass once I got a steamdeck. I'll wait until it's on a sale at some point then :).

The other half played for a couple of hours last night. Loves the new gfx upgrade and the fact that they haven't actually changed the gameplay too much so she felt quite at home.
No complaints on performance either (she's running an ancient GTX970 @ 1080p)

Got it on Gamepass and it's rather excellent. Simple gameplay which is hard to master if you don't think things through. Designed as a single player game from the start, so really quite fun narrative for the campaign rather than a short intro of mindless scenarios designed to be as cheap/quick as possible on the way to multi player which doesn't need AI or a story as tends to happen all to often these days. First game which has me coming back for "just one more go" since Mount & Blade 2

Sold! Pet hate when games sacrifice story etc for that very reason. Exactly why I've avoided Space Marine 2. Luckily a lot of devs understand that not everyone cares about multiplayer, be it PVP or co-op.

I'm sure some will find it unsophisticated. It's not going to win awards for depth to be fair, however a good single player story (there is multiplayer as well) and straight forward gameplay means I've just found it good fun

Picked this up from cdkeys and am having a blast with it.

Played online match last night. I was making a load of villagers and not much army. The guy attacks, couldn't finish me off or kill enough villagers, so I quickly ramped up my army and retaliated. As soon as he saw my army he resigned. Lol.

Well worth the asking price.
