hi guys just setting up my 2 crucial m4s in a raid 0 , ive come accross this ahci mode or ide , which one do i go with for a raid 0 ? ive got a gigabyte ud7 1366 socket motherboard , and im going use the marvel 6 gb ports, thanks in advance

Stick with IDE. AHCI has been known to cause some problems with particular applications. I can't remember any main significant differences between them but I do know there is no difference in performance.

If you're setting the mode in the BIOS then you need to use RAID mode otherwise you won't be able to set up a RAID array unless you're using software RAID.

Are you serious?

AHCI poses many advantages over IDE whilst using a solid state drive.

That was about the most informative post I have ever came across mate.

Would you like to point them out then, or are you just making some kind of duff statement?

This is an oldish article but illustrates the point:

SSD Benchmark Tests: SATA IDE vs AHCI Mode

And if you looked through this forum there are numerous cases of people getting better performance using AHCI mode with SSD's.
