I'm really, really sorry.

I need to choose between an Xbox 360 and a PS3. I don't care for online play, and I do care for the BluRay drive as i just bought a HD TV. However, Blurays here are horrific expensive so in reality it might just be a "bonus" rather than reason to pick one.

Anyways... does anyone know of a site that might allow me to compare games catalogues for the two? I dont care for FPS with controllers, but RPGs, JRPGs, and silly fun games I do fancy, platformers, that sort of thing.

Anyways, sorry.

Based on your mention of JRPG/RPG I'd say PS3. 360 does have a few exclusive ones but doesn't get much JRPG love.
+ You also got access to the extensive back catalogue on PSN of classic PS1 RPGs

PS3!

How expensive is a bluray over in UAE?

Infact is it expensive for everything over there? Going to dubai for 4 months soon!

Consumer Electronics are pretty much same-same price wise, but you'll eat like a king for cheap.

Only problem is the lack of stores for selling DVDs/Bluray etc, so theres a lack of HMV style 3 for £20 etc. There's a bunch of Virgin Megastores, but the Blurays retail at AED160 and up (£27).

Amazon UK will deliver DVD size packages for £3 though, and they dont charge VAT. You will wait 3 weeks for them though.

Throw me an email if there's anything specific you want to know.

Thanks for the pointers guys. JRPG isnt a massive concern, just somethign i do enjoy. I was leaning to the PS3 anyway but open to opinion.

Blu-Ray movies aren't that expensive over here tbh, you can pick loads of good ones up that are under £10 each, I got Goodfellas for a fiver for example. In most cases they are usually only a couple of quid dearer than the DVD versions. If you're not bothered about online but you want the features of the Blu-Ray I'd probably recommend the PS3.

You live in UAE?

Dampcat, isn't there a rent service similar to lovefilm that you could use? You could use blurays then :)

Have both. 1000% PS3 in those circumstances.

Here's a screenshot of this years billed exclusives/multiplats. Might be a little out of date but you get the gist of it.

Imo, the PS3 has always been ahead when it comes to it's exclusive library.

Having been a fan boy online mp. I have stick with xbox for years. But now I am looking at a ps3 as they tend to have better games and types of games. Shudders lol

Yeah, I'm pro PS3 myself, I just disagreed with them saying there were more JRPGs on it than 360, as i'm pretty sure its untrue. Exclusives wise I much prefer them on PS3, Bluray and free online play. BBC I player, Love film streaming. All bonuses.

JRPG's edge slightly on the 360, especially with certain exclusives like Lost Odyssey, but quite a few of them eventually get released on the PS3 and in a better version with extra content and the ease of one disc.

As others have mentioned, PS3 is the easy choice.

I had an xbox and have gone over to the PS3 camp. I am pretty much the same as you with regards to what you want from a console (except Jrpg - I love western rpg though) so I would definitely recommend the PS3 - plus it has awesome exclusives, I didn't realise just how good some of them are. It definitely beats xbox in terms of exclusives.
Online play is also free in case you (like me) want to have a blast online once or twice a year.

I have both, and if I'm honest the 360 may just have 1 or 2 more JRPG's then the PS3 over here, but because the PS3 is region free so you can buy all the good JRPG's that only ever get released in Asia, so PS3 gets my vote (even though its as hot as the sun lol) :)

I'd say PS3, since multiplayer isn't really something you want if you do want to dabble a bit it's free on the PS3.

Also the PS3 you can watch movies directly off a thumb drive or external hard disc so it makes an excellent media centre.

Most games are released on both platforms except for the few.
