That's exactly what I'm hoping too. I'm hoping it goes back to everyone on the server knowing the names of the top 5 pvpers, having to work really long and hard to get a gear reward from pvp, and just good old fashioned, 4+ hour running battles between masses of players.
If we can start getting that once a lot of people are actually at the level cap, then it's going to be a great game.
you dont need to be at the level cap to enjoy PvP in Aion, you gain entry to the Abyss at 25 and your first instance (open 25-28). I've been exploring, questing and PvP'ing since level 25 (now 30) and although at times i've been steamrolled by higher level Eylos ive had some cracking mass battles.
one thing i will mention is i havent played WoW and that some players who joined our Legion from that game have already gone back to it. It seems a lot of players from that game were expecting WoW II or something and find the game not to their liking.. i dont know why.
I'm still debating whether to play Aion again, I played on the chinese servers with a few characters I think to about level 26 or so, I enjoyed it quite a bit but there didn't seem to be much endgame, or even much to do at 26. Not to mention that £35 is a steep price to pay compared to paying nothing for it in China.
its not free, they have a pay per hour scheme unlike here where you pay a subscription each month with unlimited game-time. I bought Aion for £29 from d2d with an extra 7 days on the standard free mth. I also can't remember any MMo being launched free or a lot cheaper on release than roughly this price.
