Akasa A-62 AMD x6 *Zosma* build

if anyone knows me from previous threads cant we please just drop everything that happened and start fresh?

So basicly in march i ordered a x4 Zosma cpu, that is garenteed to unlock to a x6 and at 3.5ghz stock speeds that makes it the standard stock speed of a x6

Since then i have fully built the pc, But it is now in pieces again. And i have learnt never to try run a x6 @ 4ghz on a msi 4+1 phase mobo.

I have now replaced the motherboard with a asus board with 8+1 phases.
But since when the motherboard blew i wasn't sure weather the cpu had gone as well, i sent the cpu back to china (originally ordered from Hong Kong). Due to sluggish airmail it has only just arrived (3 weeks after sending), And is going to be tested and they will send back a working cpu tomorrow, using a 6 day courier service.

So here is the spec of the pc (when the cpu returns)


Motherboard: Asus M4A88T-V EVO/USB3
CPU: AMD 970 (*Thuban* OEM released, very rare!) fully unlock-able to x6
CPU heat-sink: Akasa Nero S Premium
RAM: 2x2gb Corsair XMS3 @1600 MHz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon 5830 (only using a small resolution and 17" monitor)
PSU: Icute AP-850AS
Case: Akasa eclipse A62
Hard drives: 2x36gb wd raptors
Optical drives: 2x dvd+/-rw

i will post pictures of the pc with the msi board installed and will take newer pictures when my cpu arrives.

Anyway, back to the topic, are you going to RAID those Raptors?

Yes i am, raid 0, i may get another one just so i can have games on it as well, but soon i will be getting a 1tb drive to back it up as raid 0 is high risk especially if you're not backing it up and running on 6 year old hdd's

So all seems good, it should take about 6 days to get back to the uk via EMS.

Have you decided which 1TB HDD you will be going for?

well, not yet, but i may go for a external usb or a enclosure and a usb3, because then id be able to back it up and i also do a lot of data transfer so it would make sense

I can imagine, I remember having to wait weeks for my MSI board to come back from RMA The second time it went I just bought a new one and got a refund on the old one lol, couldn't be bothered to wait around for it again.

Nope, since he said he'd be testing it i haven't received any news on the cpu witch is rather worrying, so in a minute im going to ask him about the situation as i was hoping to have the cpu back before Monday, looks like that wont happen

Nothing yet, haven't heard since the 4th.
Its starting to become rather frustrating, its probably going to take around a month

sent them 2 messages since the confirmed date of arrivals witch was the 4th of may, ill send them one tomorrow and after one every 2 days, because im sick of waiting
