Probably as far as you ever need to go in terms of headphones, until they eventually crumble and die that is but that should be a very long way down the line - Just glad you really like them after the kerfuffle of getting them into the UK.

Stylistically they are almost the same as my K702s, flat headband, matte black, detatchable cable, etc. though mine do have a silver band towards the edge, the metal tab that connects to the leather is silver and the centre dome is also silver. No way I could survive long with the Q701s if you suffered after only 30 mins - I have no padding at all

Nice looking cable, just a shame it has to come all the way from China. I don't suppose it comes with a 1/4" adaptor?

it's a screw on with the original cable though and it doesn't look as though that has a thread.

Yes but my HD 7950 is going to struggle with Witcher 3 and Fallout 4 so reinforcements are needed

It's expected that Bethesda are going to announce it at E3 next month

My HD 7950 is just above minimum (7850) for Witcher 3, which looks like being the next Skyrim. No idea what the requirements will be for FO4 up to now, they haven't even acknowledged it's existence yet.

To be honest I'm really liking my K702's. They are well and truly worn in (many 100's of hours) and the bass port mod together with a touch of EQing gives me a large sound stage, growly impactful bass, clear mids and detailed but tamed highs. The K7XX are more like the HD650 and seeing as I have the HD650 I don't really need another one.

while you were at it you should have replaced the wires with some strands of unicorn blessed directional unobtanium for a night and day improvement of sound quality

I equalise my AKGs, just tapering off the highs from about 4kHz makes a big difference

Just get the K712, £180 is a very good price.

Massdrop is becoming less and less relevant as the value of the pound decreases versus the mighty dollop. Personally I couldn't live with the very long wait and the poor support should anything go wrong.
