Alder Lake-S leaks

Still waiting on the Maximus Z690 hero here too! Any update you can share @Gibbo ?

Happy to wait for the board though - the USB DAC/Amp solution is fantastic and drives my Sennheiser 660S exceptionally well, coupled with best BIOS, overclocking/RAM support and fantastic aesthetics (to my taste anyway!).

Yes waits patiently on news from GIbbo on any updates .

Has anyone received the Maximus hero board yet?

I've been told December 9th at the earliest for the board I am waiting, not my build so doesn't bother me too much, but seems like a component shortage of some description, and a possibility they may have tweaked the board revision and a re re-validating and re-testing it, hence the longer delay than expected. Given the proximity to the festive season and that it will be air-freight I am expecting to actually receive in midway through December or later. I've advised people who aren't set on it to change their board, only the one die-hard must have left.

Probably quite a few as you can get up to £100 cashback from Asus. I had this down as my 1st choice but swapped to another when I saw it delayed.

Only if you receive the motherboard by 30th November ;)

Confirmed with Asus that the requirement is to buy, not to receive :)

  1. Buy an eligible ASUS Z690 Mainboard and Intel core CPU between October 27th and November 30th 2021 at a participating dealer
As long as you buy both the CPU/Motherboard from the same retailer (one that's on Asus' list, which includes OCUK), you'll be fine.

It'll be the date on the invoice they care about, not when the retailer took your money. So if OCUK took your funds at the point of order, then dispatched it 3 months later the invoice would give the 3 month later date, this is also for warranty purposes, unless you'd be happy to have a shorter warranty for a product due to the delays?
