Alder Lake-S leaks

I just want the one that gives me best frames in games yes a lot of ppl like amd and Intel not biased at just one that gives me good performance ...

I find it strange when people have such an attachment to a brand. To the point that they will go down with the ship. I mean you are paying them, not the other way around. Give your money to whichever offers you the best experience, I say.
I can understand having a degree of "heart" mixed into to what should be a "head" decision. I know a lot of people who refuse to buy brands/products because the company is an unethical scumbag, and that's fair enough. So for me, those gravitating away from Intel because they don't want to support an entire decade of stagnation and disgusting OEM practices is fair enough. But don't paint AMD as some kind of shining light in he process. Certainly my graphics card choices lean towards AMD because the level of scummery at which Uncle Jensen operates is just too much, but I'm not going to start blanket boycotting Nvidia and throwing myself at the altar of Dr. Su over it.

But the level of utter blind fanboyism you see from certain individuals on these forums is just hilarious and pathetic in equal measure, especially when there are cold, hard facts that cannot be disputed yet they just keep banging on. I don't understand it, I really don't.

When the new cpus and boards get released do they normally go pre-order or is it a scramble for stock like the gfx cards? Apologies im still on a 6th gen i7 and its time to upgrade. i am bit out of the loop these days

There's usually some kind of pre-order going on, but I really wouldn't do anything until both Alder Lake and the Ryzen 5000 refresh are reviewed and benchmarked.

Says the man with a 3090...
LOL, he bought a 3090??

When I last had a chat with him he said he was keeping his 2080 Ti and the upgrade was not big enough or something like that. I guess the lure of having the best got to him in the end anyways. Lol

Haven't regretted my 3090 give my son my 2080ti so wee new alder lake might do me . I'f the prices aren't silly of course..

My mind changes like the weather mate sunny rainy belfast.:D

Seems Z690 is going to get a lot of lanes:

All those PCIe 5.0 lanes, tracks and traces are probably not going to cheap. While I think early adopters of DDR5 are mugs who will be mugged, if the rest of the platform is going to be pricey then maybe the DDR5 premium makes more sense?

I think you mean the 12900k my man :)

Also I think this expected, Intel top CPU will exceed AMDs in single core...for now. And its 16 cores (let's consider the juice used) matches the 5950x, but whether that is across more workloads remains to be seen. It took them a year but well done.

But then I see something in 3D coming across the horizon...

Phew  that with a 400W ampere = expensive cooling/psu.

AMD Ryzen will still be the better solution.

I guess at the Intel's headquarters there are too many angry engineers who can't design efficient processors with Ryzen's performance, so they said - let's throw the power targets out of the window and reach that performance by heavily overclocking everything out of their poor slow chips.
Meh!
