As I predicted 2 weeks ago the 12900k will become the new king for setting cpu and gpu world records
and it didn't take long, the 12900k has just smashed the single and multi core Geekbench world records held by the 5950x and 11900k.
The 12900k overclocked to 6.8ghz on P cores and 5.3ghz on E cores has scored 2740 single core points and 26650 points in multicore. Smashing the 5950x multicore world record by nearly 30% and and the single core world record held by the 11900k by 20%
Those numbers can't be right?
The World record is (unsurprisingly) held by the 3990X with 100032 points, the 5950X tops at 88527 points.
They've said they have a couple of hundred of each cpu in stock and it's up for pre-order now. Will overclcockers even have the 12900k in stock on the 4th November or is it there going to be a long pre order queue to join ?
Several hundred on each CPU.

I never suggested it was, I'm just letting the guy know what Gibbo said in response to a previous question about the stock situation. That's not a lot....
That's why it's best to pre order right away to avoid disappointment as you can always return or even sell it on at a profit if there is a shortage and you change your mind. That's not a lot....

If there's anything that I learned from the past year is not to wait when new hardware is released as stock will dry up and prices tend to go up atleast in the short term.Sodding flippers! We've become the thing we hate the most lol.
Yes, because the small cores probably won't do much for performance in most tasks.Sodding flippers! We've become the thing we hate the most lol.
Interesting that Intel slides focus on the 129 and 126 but not 127.
I have a feeling the 127 is the real champ here for price and performance.

I'm not big on abusing the 2 week return policy like that, but selling them for profit yeah that might be an idea if initial stock on them is low
Oh i see, first place google took me was the Geekbench hall of fame and yes that's 4 not 5
Thanks for letting me know I only orderd at 23:18:00 hope I get one on release date. They've said they have a couple of hundred of each cpu in stock and it's up for pre-order now.
