So what is the correct way to pronounce Aldi?

Hast du diese lächerliche Vorstellung gestern Abend gesehen? Was hat sich Venger nur dabei gedacht, Wallcot so früh aufs Feld zu holen?

Aldi has become a very fashionable place to shop for the upper-middle classers... who are often pretentious enough to pronounce foreign-origin words in foreign accents, to effect an air of superior education, even if they get it wrong or have to invent it.

I say al-dee, often with an s lol. “Lets go to al-dees”

I still struggle to tell the difference between aldi and Lidl. I know one of them sells fresh pastries….

Lidl has a bakery section with fresh (ish) goods, but while I do like Lidl I tend to avoid that particular part. It's a self serve type thing with bags and tongs, but the amount of unwashed cretins I've seen manhandling things and putting them back is unreal, or worse doing so after dropping them on the floor.

I tend to avoid most of the self service type things, it’s the same with the open pick and mix, Krispy kreme section at Tesco etc.

I can tolerate bananas as they’re protected but anything else like fruit, say apples I buy sealed packs.

I've seen this a couple times too. Disgusting honestly.

I get that accidents happen, I've dropped the odd thing like that myself. It doesn't take a genius IQ to realise that you shouldn't fish food off the floor and put it back for some other poor sod, what boggles my mind is the fact the people doing that sort of thing are still buying and consuming those goods themselves.

Dirty sods.
