Surely it's not normal biological behaviour?
 
Off topic but:

The drive for sex is hard wired into us. We derive pleasure from it, it certainly isn't the idea of having offspring that makes most people want to have sex.

Homosexuality is well documented throughout the animal kingdom and so is masturbation. The motivation behind many animals as well as people to have sex is pleasure, not it's biological function. Funnily enough , deriving pleasure from sex is completely normal biological behaviour.

Sex is also fun, i'm sorry you don't enjoy that. Plenty of of humans and animals enjoy sex for the sake of sex itself, whether that is homosexual or heterosexual intercourse.


I take it you have never jerked off, because that doesn't have a biological function either.

While I agree, it's "hard wired" into us, but when it comes to homosexuality and other sexual disorders, clearly the wires are crossed, it's a biological malfunction, possible mutation, clearly something is broke in what makes that person them.

Not to say, it's a terrible thing, it's not killing them and nor is it harming others, but I believe there is something broken and could be resolved at birth with future genetic engineering.

I don't think anyone is born gay or straight, that is just the case of nurture. Same way that no one is born with peanut-butter as a favourite food. We are however born with a body that will develop a sex drive. There have been tons of studies examining hormones and genetics of animals and people as to different biological differences between hetro and homosexuals and there is little to no evidence that it is a result of some physiological difference. For some reason people get offended by the idea of this, as if they are less gay or straight after being told that the total result of their life experiences made them this way instead of it being predetermined by birth.

Ah you saying, you believe in the idea that human sexuality is a social construct? That with the right behaviour modifiers, you can "mold" a new born to be whatever you want to be?

There has been brain research to show there is differences in biological sex and sexual orientation.

Obviously, I don't understand the science enough to understand why or even if the research is sound, but according to a quick google search, there seems to be a differences between us.

Biological problems happen in the animal kingdom too, this is true, after all they are not immune to all the problems humans face.

Not to say it's a bad thing, blue eyes for example, isn't "natural" and is in-fact a mutation.

Ok so the desire to have sex is driven due to hormones, this function was a successful mutation during evolution because it increases our likely hood of reproducing. That desire to have sex doesn't disappear because you aren't attracted to the opposite sex, but being attracted to the same sex isn't "biologically normal" because it wouldn't allow the species to reproduce (if we were all gay), irrespective of whether that occurs in other animals. That's not to say there's anything wrong with being gay or that you aren't a normal human being as we're all different in a multitude of ways.

If I remember correctly, the desire to have sex and to enjoy is because it helps us to propagate.

After all, if it feels good, you gonna do it a lot more, so that means, you gonna have more babies.

OK, but you could realistically suggest that the fun aspect is the reward to incentivise procreation. If the result is purely pleasure, then it just shows an inconsistency to its overall function. i.e, nothings perfect.
