Alien Vs Predator - Multiplayer Preview/Dev Talk

SEGA Europe Ltd. has revealed in pictures the contents of the forthcoming Aliens Vs. Predator Hunter Edition that will be released across Europe on 19th February, 2010. Set to be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC Games for Windows, Aliens Vs. Predator is currently in development at Rebellion Studios.
In addition to the standard edition of the game, Aliens Vs. Predator will be available as a Survivor Edition and Hunter Edition. The Survivor Edition is a steelbook version of the game and includes an unlock code for four exclusive Premium Downloadable [Xbox 360 Blip] Content (PDLC) multiplayer maps which will be available to download post-launch. The Hunter Edition also features the PDLC of four exclusive multiplayer maps, as well as a fully posable facehugger model, a Weyland Yutani sleeve badge and a 3D lenticular postcard.
Ive played it at eurogamer this year, it IS very good. The survivor and hunter editions are not anywhere to be found however on any uk shopping website, even though they were announced on the 16th dec by sega as coming to the uk(Iit was actually announced as coming to the uk first). I have emailed a couple of sites and am awaiting a response. The release is only 6 weeks away. I cannot under stand why no uk site has them for preorder?

This game will be better suited for PC, as all AVP games have always been on there before. I have no idea how it will play out on consoles, will be so hard to move and do stuff...

I bet the exact opposite - the game will have been designed around the controllers instead of keyb/mouse.

Cant be the case.. This has ALWAYS been a PC game, the game only came out beacuse of the popular demand of the old games. Ive been told there will be no ports as each version was created from the ground up.
But if you have a good PC you clearly have to get it for that, the easier controls, better graphics etc.

The PC version isnt cleary going to be the best at all infact all three versions will be as good. I could run AVP in full on the pc i bet but am i getting it for it? answer is no i get more enjoymeant out of the games on the consol lately.
So your expections of the pc being the best are your view it doesnt make it true for every one else end of
Anyways i hope some of you will be up for some survivor action? I shall be getting mine on PS3 and hope to see you all on. Im half expecting the motion sensor to send me nuts however and waste tons of ammo shooting litter like i did in the first two >.<

I'm pretty sure you're wrong – if I am correct, the game came out on the Atari Jaguar first, then graced the PC many years later, AvP 2 and it’s add-ons came a few years down the line and had changed the game quite a bit – think it was also a different team doing these games?
I’m guessing you’re a PC gamer first and foremost, as you seem from these posts, dead-set against the idea that this game will be any good on consoles, I’m not sure what facts you’re basing this opinion on
A few year ago I would have agreed whole-heartedly with you that the PC version will be the best, and I guess in some respects that is still true (lightening fast movement and potentially better graphics), but warning people off of a console version because of your own bias doesn’t make it so.

If this is as good as the original then I will definately be getting this.
Loved getting confused as hell running around the walls as an alien.
Being a marine was great too as its was really scary looking for aliens with the light.
Never was any good as Pred as i didnt like the views but each to their own

I am actually quite ****ed off that its coming to consoles to be honest. I know there will be no porting on any of the platforms for this game which is good for everyone but i just think it should have had all man power focused on the PC version while creating the game, i just hope you console lot didnt slow us down or prevented us from the game we have been waiting 10+ years for..

Assuming you are for real I’ll grace you with a suitable reply:
You’re ****** off that a game that originated on a console, is coming back to a console? You seriously believe that PC gamers should be the only ones to enjoy the series? You’re not right in the head if you honestly believe this, and blaming us “console lot” for whether a developer succeeds or fails to deliver on other platforms is frankly idiotic.
Now forgive me for not having all the facts and examples, I left PC gaming a few years back, so haven’t kept up with releases of the years, but I am vaguely aware how there’s been quite a bit of backlash with some releases as the lazy developers have simply ported a console release to PC; without trying to make any effort to implement the aforementioned better controls and/or textures.
You’ve mentioned above, and in a previous post, that you know that this game has been designed from the ground up for each platform, something I wasn’t aware of; but seriously doubt – what if it turns out that you PC lot are getting yet another console port? Judging by how I make out your attitude from your posts here, I wouldn’t put it past you to go on some sort of artic silver fuelled rampage at the nearest games retailer; smashing up their console displays and such
Just grow up dude, it’s a game, there’s far more pressing things going on in the world to be so angry about whether console games stunt the development of their PC counterparts!
