Aliens

There could be an advanced life form living with us. They are so much more advanced that they have invisability. They could be sitting next to you laughing :p

I don't think we have been visited, i think that will be too hard to "cover up". I would like to think there is something else out there, maybe we all have a twin or something.

You have been reading too many of Magik's posts.

It's unlikely yes, but then think how many stars there are out there.

That's a hell of a lot.
I'd be willing to bet that pretty much the same conditions as our solar system exist around at least another one of those stars.

Indeed, but what if? What if ours is the only one with the correct conditions to sustain life for as long as we have? Maybe other planets get life, then they're made extinct to whatever form of nature. Just saying :) Obviously the above is unlikely.

Why do we have so many Alien threads :(

Because people find them interesting? It's a General Discussions area, if you don't like the thread why post in the thing's. Better than talking about "omgz look at this cute fish!" threads, in my opinion obviously. :)

You're assuming that there need to be the exact same conditions as on earth for life to evolve, which may not be true.

Scientists think there maybe be life under the ice of Titan, which is certainly subject to different conditions to earth. Just because in our very limited exploration of 8 other planets we haven't found life, however primitive (yet, it's still possible) is no reason to rule out the possibility.

...mmmmno.

I never said ours is THE only hospitable planet in the galaxy, I used our planet as an example, especially an example towards more advanced life...There may very well be life in Titan, as I have heard that theory too, but they certainly haven't sent any spaceships our way yet, which is my point.

(Well, they may have...Hah)

But yes, there may very well be some form of life, that CAN live on say...Mercury? And live off the land somehow...

Is there not an animal/insect/mammal etc that can withstand some stupid amount of heat? I can't remember which now, but that is a good example of lifeorms that can exist in areas where we can not :)

You're still thinking of life in the earth sense. Why does our planet, or conditions on our planet, such as distance from the sun etc, have to be the example for more advanced life?

It doesn't? I'm using ours as an example, as all of the planets around don't 'appear' to have any.

And to be honest, we have some quite different weather patterns around us planet wise.

And as I said a minute ago, there will be 'Aliens' that can live in harsher enviroments than us...As I said.

***Did you even read the last part of my post actually? It even says the opposite to what you replied to me. But nevermind :)

I believe in aliens, the apocalypse, the tooth fairy, Santa, The Etherbunny, Elves, Pixi's, Orcs, that there were no dinosaurs and that the world is flat!

seriously though I do believe other intelligent life exists and they colud have been here and still could be here

Theres Klingons on the starboard bow, starboard bow, starboard bow, theres Klingons on the starboard bow, scrape 'em off, Jim.

edit, oh noes beaten by seconds :-(

It'd be extremely arrogant to think that we're the only lifeforms to have evolved in the entire Universe. Of course there's life out there!

Life is 100% likley elsewhere in the universe, even complex intelligent life given enough chance is 100% likely, i even suspect some has visited us but realistically thats unlikely.

If you believe in the big bang and evolution, then you should believe in aliens
If you believe in Christianity then again you should believe in aliens.

However I don't believe we have been visited...

I actually didn't think that there are people who think there is no other life in the universe. We are a grain of sand on hundreds of beaches.

I believe, as you stated above that due to the size of the universe etc.

Same. I don't want to speak about it much though, because the next thing you know, I'll be walking down the street, and a black van will pull up next to me and I'll be gone forever, for talking too much.

STICK IT TO THE MAN!
