Alienware AW3423DW or LG OLED42C24LA

After thinking about it for a while and watching some more comparison videos I think I'm going to settle on the C2 IF I can get it cheap in black friday sales, and then wait for a refined qdled within the next year or two. We can't get a perfect monitor right now and for me personally I don't think I would handle the ultrawide at 34inch well, I would want a 38inch. I've never experienced UW or so I can't miss what I don't know :D but from reading some experiences there are some issues with content and black bars.

Oh that's interesting, I haven't heard of any burn in related issues with these though... might be worth it I guess, hmmm
 
Sadly because i dithered earlier, the option of delivery on Monday had gone (guess they are selling these by the boatload) so Thursday delivery it is!

But should be worth the wait. Put my Aw3821 up for sale already :)

I didn't in the end, I'm still thinking about it. I asked the guy how long I have to add the protection and he said up to 60 days. Maybe I should... need to check if the lg manufacturers warranty will cover burn in issues

I wanted it for today so I made sure to check stock at my local (solihull) and they had three in stock, they let me use the discount from online etc :)

All my local JL were already out of stock apart from one store but that only had 1 left and you cant reservce them so knowing my luck I would drive an hour there and find it sold! Should have ordered one this morning, it would have been here by Monday.

LG doesnt. AFAIK only the extended JL warranty does. Seems worth it to me at £18 per year for piece of mind esp if using it as a monitor. If I was just using it as a TV I perhaps wouldn't bother.
 
so i just got the alienware, and im sending it back, it has 2 fans in the screen 1 for the oled and 1 for the gysnc module and they are just too loud. sat in a quite room with your screen making a whirring sound to me is just really annoying.

That's a shame tbh, I've had one for the last week or two now and it's totally silent no fan noise at all, I was initially worried before purchasing it, otherwise its spot on.
