All games to flicker/shimmer? When moving.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=77tec9VrqJc

watching at 1080p res, stop the video @ 0.01, look at the line in the roof of the bus stop on the left, there is no AA/AF on in this video, same with the fire escape @ 0.03 on the right, again it looks like no aa so they look a mess.

Millions of people play DOTA2, GTAV, Rocket League and CS:GO, examples using these is just easier to work with, we can eliminate it being the games fault on some korean mmo (I play MuOnline btw) vs an esport game like dota2 eg. if you look at the balcony's that are lit by the sun

Then look at them with msaa x2 and fxaa

Less blocky, therefore as your move the camera there are less blocks to bump into each other and overlap (like the fire escape in the first video) and make things look a flickery mess.

This is probably a silly question but are you definitely running at 1080p? (both on the desktop and also in the ingaming settings) The video you just posted really just looks like a game running at a low resolution to me.

Just reinstall everything - clean install windows etc. Don't mess with the nvidia controls and see if it happens on another screen.

High chance you've now messed with so many settings it's worse and impossible to unpick. Clean install is faster than all this mucking about...

I doubt that. I'm not reinstalling Windows again because I know that is not the cause.

Yes I'm running native. 1080p.

Make sure you have the same settings as me under "change resolution" in the Nvidia Control Panel.

i dont have these options? https://gyazo.com/4b638729ed656fe87b87d2c2e9cd7f9e

Literally call bs on that, you don't know it's not at all because you are messing with everything and clearly it's a quick option to wipe the slate clean and confirm it's the card.

If it was my rig it would be one of the first things I tried after basic cables and screens.

BenQ XL2411Z (1920x1080@144Hz) I tried HDMI cable, problem still persisted.

I read the manual and see the issue why your monitor didnt turned on used HDMI. That because your monitor used DVI input as default setting so you will need to go into monitor OSD/System/Input and change from DVI-DL to HDMI. Then turned off your monitor and change cable to HDMI and turned on monitor.

Yeah I ended up making it work by having both cables plugged in then changing to HDMI on my monitor settings. However, this didn't change anything in regards of the graphical problem.

IS it a graphical problem with every game?

Have you tried triple A games with higher quality graphics settings?

1080p is not really a high resolution anymore, coupled with a low end game and low/no AA the jaggies will be very pronounced especially at distance on fine objects. Which is what it looks like to me.

Use DSR (dynamic scale resolution) in the nvidia panel and set it to 2x or even 4x native. Set that 2x/4x native in games and see if changes anything.

I don't usually make these type of threads asking for help because I can often fix the problem myself with a ton of research. However, I've had this problem for a while now and I've only now started to kick up a fuss because the recent game I've started playing seems to be the worst.

The problem is extremely hard to explain but what I am experieincing is in most games such as H1Z1 and Black Desert textures at a distance seem to flicker/wobble/vibrate/shimmer with light. The texture itself doesn't move but it just wobbles with light, it's hard to describe specifically what I mean. I've tried recording the problem but for some reason the problem doesn't show as bad as I see it directly on my monitor.

I tried recording in H1Z1. As you can see you will most likely think the game looks perfectly normal but on my screen the problem is way worse, in the video the cars on the roads look perfectly normal yet when I was recording they were shimmering with light. You can slightly see the problem in this video by looking at the buildings or specifically the metal fire stairs I look at.

This is not the same game nor is it my video but this is what I pretty much see on most games. Watch the video in 1080p, look how bad the textures flicker.

Now when it comes to troubleshooting I've pretty much tried everything I think of yet the problem still persists.

- Uninstalled my current drivers using the DDU program and tried various versions of drivers.
- Forced AA/AF and all the other options within the NVIDIA control panel. (including Vsync)
- Tried another DVI cable aswell as a whole new monitor.
- Installed my old GPU

I tried running the Heaven Benchmark yet the problem wasn't noticeable at all. Only on certain textures such as the rope on the ship had the problem. Also Overwatch doesn't seem to have this problem either.

For anyone who can resolve or tell me what is happening will be rewarded. I've posted on multiple forums now and nobody can give me a solution which I haven't already tried.

Its not flicker or shimmer, its a simple aliasing problem, you have to use any type of aliasing eliminate this, like post process (less cost more blur) FXAA,SMAA,or the normal aliasing settings if its supported by the game,(more cost better result) like MSAA,SSAA, or you can use DSR/Downsampling.Nothing wrong with you monitor,or gpu. Some games not support only post process AA,even if you forced via nV control panel.Like H1Z1,so there not much to do,you can play with downsamling thats all...

Looks like a lack of anti-aliasing. This will be made to look even worse if you try to increase sharpness and contrast via software or monitor settings.

Record the same clips with 4x MSAA or above enabled. Or try DOOM and test the AA options in that game.

Ugh. Which triple A game would you recommend to test if it happens in it?

Also, I've tried altering settings in nividia control panel before such as DSR and I never notice no difference. It's like I didn't even change the setting. I'm either dumb too recognize the change or I'm right in regards of seeing no difference.

As I mentioned above I''ve tried forcing settings in my Nividia control panel but I see no change whatsoever. Is that weird? The AA problem is the same and it's incredibly annoying to play games with.

As I've said multiple times now I've tried forcing AA in nivida control panel. It doesn't make any difference.

Yeah, but if the game not support any traditional AA,then you cant force, you can,but no result... Try DSR,enable in the nV control panel, and select a higher resolution in the game, itt will help a lot,but tax you gpu hard. Both game (DayZ/H1Z1) base on old game engine, but even some modern engine not have propper AA built in.You can try sweetfx, http://sfx.thelazy.net/games/ with some forced FXAA anytime, but its never gonna perfect.
Another option buy a smaller size monitor with higher resolution, like 27"-4K,but its again will tax your gpu.

Black Desert has AA and SSRA but enabling and disabling it makes no difference in regards of my problem. I've tried a smaller monitor and the problem still persists.

Any AAA game you have. For example, The witcher 3, BF1, BF4, Fallout etc etc.

Did you enable DSR at 2x native and then adjust the in game resolution to the required notch above 1080p?
