Hi Easy,

Sorry for the thread-necro but wanted to check how you were getting on with the Roku 3?

I'm currently in the market for a new 'all-in-one' solution for pretty much the same needs that you've listed above.

Does it cope OK with larger MKV files (30GB+) via Plex?

Also, have you tested wireless vs wired connectivity to see if there's much difference?

Thanks in advance.

Its a pretty robust solution.

It will handle 15GB MKV's fine...I don't have many bigger

as for wireless...I don't even go there for a media streamer....Hardwired is a must or seamless performance.

Cheers

Ive streamed BR rips upto that size via a roku 3 (wired) without issue - the only thing I didnt like about it was the small video wall - only 18 titles /page , with over 650 on my server that was just too small (and no , there was no way to alter this at the time)

Otherwise a very good unit

Never tried wireless as it was so close to my router it made sense to go wired, but personally wouldnt try streaming huge files like that I always found I got highly variable performance over wireless.

Thank you!

Perfect thank you!

I don't really have any intention of using the wireless but was curious more than anything :)

Two on order so hopefully be here shortly :)

Plugged in at the office and working perfectly :)

Just need to test the DTS / Audio setup when I get home.

All working great! Simple interface and speedy navigation between apps.

Plex is working great on both boxes, one direct HDMI connection to my bedroom TV and the second box connected to the amp in the living room. Getting DTS where available in plex on the one in the living room.

Another huge benefit - being my wife is a huge night owl and loves a late night box set binge - the wireless remote combined with headphones = peace and quiet for me! :)

Very pleased with it just after one night!

Ha! More amazingness - Just reprogrammed the Harmony 600 and 700 and the Roku 3's have an IR sensor built in too! Added bonus for when the Roku remote goes missing :D
