I need a new phone (yes, need - I'm currently having to use two phones made circa 2007 to keep me going).
Same here! I left my old job a couple of weeks back and consequently now without a phone - after years of not worrying thanks to my company issued BlackBerry.
Now I'm throwing money away on a PAYG dongle and PAYG phone SIM while waiting for the iPhone5.

I think my iphone 4's home button is dying :(

happened to me 3weeks ago
off to liverpool apple store i went
the lady done this diognostics test and told me to keep it for another 10 days and if it happens again they will replace it
lucky for my the test went pair shaped and returned errors
so i left with a new ip4 and an apple tv 2 aswell :D

good old apple, they look after us

Dropped my iPhone 4 and bust the front screen yesterday. Looking around its going to cost me a fair bit to fix. I wasnt really interested in the 4s or 5 or whatever but now im not so sure.

Phones still prefectly useable just has a nice crack in the top right corner.

So who has sold their iP4 already? What kinda prices are you looking at? Tempted to do same, but I ended up selling my iP3GS a week before iP4 release and still got £300 for it which is more than useful enough...

October is far to far away and I dont have a useful smartphone to use in its place...

ps3ud0

did you get a new phone or a refurb?

mine is doing this now as well. takes me a few pushes to get it to activate....

My one is same home button is doing my head in working sometimes mostot the time not , dam phone is 45 days out of warranty ! so its going to cost 140 to get a replacment phone is it worth me doing that and selling the new iphone , how much would a black 16g ip4 go for on the bay offical unlocked from apple ?

Even if it's out of warranty you should still try and get it replaced. It's perfectly reasonable to expect the home button to last more than a year or so.

thanks there digging there heels in about the warranty , but paying £500 for the phone just over a year ago , i am kicking myself as this started to happen a few months ago , and has got worse but since i was working in africa i couldnt take it in the get repaired or send it off .....but the home buttons need to be revised if its only lasting a year or so .....

interesting just tried this and now home button is great !
You probably need to re-calibrate the home button. To do so follow these steps

1.) Open an application

2.) Press and hold the power button until the slide to shutdown swipe bar appears.

3.) Release Power button

4.) Press and hold Home button Lightly until screen returns to icon screen

Finished, your home button now works as good as new."
