I agree with this.

We all have some idea what we can expect from the next iPhone. I'd be really surprised if there is anything there at all that makes me say wow. It will be the usual dual core cpu, more ram, slightly bigger screen, 1080p video recording, better camera, and with iOS5. All of which is already out there, and will probably be blown out of the water by the end of this year by upcoming android phones. Most iPhone users I know, haven't the foggiest idea about what spec the iPhone 4 is, nor do they really care.

I think they meant the initial delay where people were expecting a summer release.
 
I just sold the Galaxy S II White. I must admit, great phone, even with a 4.3" screen, it didn't feel like it was that big. Unlike the Desire HD, the Galaxy S II felt very comfortable.

This is one of the first smooth-animated Andoid-based phones I've seen.

I didn't like the desire hd at all, but the Galaxy was different, much nicer and for a split second I was considering keeping it.. I had a play with it and I think that Android is getting there. Not with the build quality just yet though ;p - comparing to apple products. (note that I only have one apple product, iphone 4 :P )

I'll stick to iOS for now, because of the retina display and I'm sure that apple prepared something special for us this time and hopefully without big surprises like the famous death grip...

...and what's that delay about? It's not like it's been announced and then delayed...

About 3-4 months ago, everybody was talking about the ipad 3 delays...

That's roughly what I'm expecting. That is a fully upgraded and changed phone, not a small 3G>3GS update.

What would make you say wow? Any examples?

Only because Android phones are released quite frequently. The entire phone market is the same, what HTC release will be blown away by what Samsung release the following month, etc. The iPhone has never been blown out of the water, nor will it be for a long time due to what you said below.

The same applies to most things like this though.
 
Another thing which I hope they've changed on the new IP is the Lock / Standby button at the top. I'd prefer it if it was more streamlined and nicer to press like you find on the BlackBerrys.
 
love all this ''blown out of the water by new android phones'' talk

yea those new android phones have the power but what can you do with that power ? the year and a bit old iphone4 still plays better games , runs better apps , still has a higher screen res and still has a good camera and battery .

guys what ever happens , iphone 5 will be good , but then its been close to 1 1/2 years since iphone 4 came out.
Problem is we have loads of companies taking out android handsets all over the place spec wise , so its not easy for them to develop games etc for them . yes they are more powerful esp the galaxy s2 and tbh i suspect the iphone 5 will just match it for performance , but apple has the app market which android will never compete with . Its like the pc and consoles pcs are vastly more powerful but the consoles are constant in there hard ware so get everything developed for them. i have just put my iphone 4 up for sale and ordered a galaxy 2 from tmobile , iphone 4 is good screen res amazing , but i am one of the types that luv to play with themes rom etc , yes you can jailbreak , but its still nowhere near as open as android , so i will see what ip5 brings i wont be getting one , i really dont think it will be a huge performace bridge over the ip4.
over the past 4 years i have spent over £2000 on apple on phones and ipads , i want to see what the comp has now ;)
and just gave a densits £500 to ***up my teeth lol so have more pressing issues atm lol

What did you find crap? see this is the problem android has , ios users come to android completley new to them and they ha8 it cause its not "simple " ie it works but doesnt just work . lol
there is nothing on android that you dont like , that cant be fixed by a software mod that someone else has done , oh one thing i have to add as well , and i am not dissing apple here they make lovely machines , but the build of the iphone etc is nice , but thats externally , you cant change battrey and a lot of people have had problems with home buttons and a few of my freinds will never buy apple again, its money money money , why dont apple provide a 2 year warranty for free when there products are so good ?
s2 has a very thin battrey cover that if damaged costs £3 pounds to replace iphone 4 ohhh dam baby . lol
And why didnt apple use gorrilla glass grrr my iphone had scratches just by looking at it lol
