Also I wonder what Mr Lawrenson has to say now!
Somehow his assurance that Ramirez would never join Southampton has made the signing even better.

Moutinho knows that if he was going to Barca, Real, City, Chelsea for a 22mil+ transfer he'd be being offered a well over 100k a week wage and that is probably not particularly good for Spurs in terms of getting him to sign.

Dempsey, do people really not watch the league, Dempsey has been in the country for years and years now, and Dembele too, how can people not know how or where he plays.

Bendtner and why people would want him, he was one of the best strikers on show in the Euro's who played brilliantly all over the pitch, his interplay was fantastic, passing fantastic, vision fantastic and got some crucial goals in which he won the ball, spread the play and then got in the box to get it in the net. Sunderland are rather crap and he didn't get a huge number of goals for them but they used him as a poor team would a lone striker bang it up to him and have him lay it off to others, he set up a lot of goals like that, both directly and within 2-3 passes. He wasn't brilliant but its hard to be brilliant when asked to play like that. He's been excellent for Arsenal when given the chance to play, he's scored and assisted against Barca, had a very good scoring record when actually given a run with the team which was very very rarely. He's a pretty good striker who given a run will both score, assist and hold up the ball well, good at defensive/offensive set pieces, works hard, but will never shine as a lone striker.

Also afaik Dempsey had a bid of 7mil accepted from Villa, and I would guess that with Fulham pee'd off at Liverpool they are likely asking more from Liverpool than they'd be willing to let him go to other clubs for. 7mil, or 10mil, for someone who can play either wing or upfront, withdrawn striker in the middle, who is simply a good all around intelligent footballer proven in this league is a steal.

I agree, but as I said, he is so far from a Levy signing its unreal for that sort of money, although I'm not sure he would be happy at Spurs as surely he would be getting less game time. Unless he can work something out and get an absolute bargain of course.

I'd say the same about QPR last season. I had no idea how their midfield was meant to be set up - they just seemed to be like headless chickens.

Clearly their dealings of the past couple of weeks isn't going to help matters, though the sheer experience of those signed should keep them safe.

I still can't believe it has actually happened! :D

Love that Lawrenson looks like a total prat of "he will leave but not to southampton" with a condescending scoff. Proving he's about the least knowledgeable pundit in the universe.

4 top draw signings (Davis, Clyne, that Zambian bloke and Ramirez) one should be very good (that cb guy), one for the future (gazza) and one slightly dubious over spend on Rodriguez.

Very good window so far, just a LB and sell off a few back ups (Hammond is apparently off as is Sharp) and we should look better!

Malaga sign Roque Santa Cruz on season-long loan from Manchester City #skydeadlineday

He has one year left on his contract so not really a loan deal.

Best bit of news all day. We are finally rid of all the leeches.

lloris completed medical. i'd say it's on but screw that, moutinho is far more important. levy's either pulling off top brinksmanship or it's all gone belly up. still nowt on another striker either.

oh gawd. this is just the transfer window, not even a game, the league etc. how am i supposed to quit the smokes supporting spurs?!

I'm not concerned about Rodriguez because he's not played in his favoured position yet. I don't think he should be playing on the wing so hopefully with the signing of Mayuka he'll be moved up front. Although it'll need a change of formation to accommodate both Lambert and Rodriguez.

Hammond did well for us but is not Prem standard so it makes sense to move him on. I don't think Sharp should be sold due to the fact he's a good goal scorer. However he does seem to miss 3 or 4 good chances before he scores which he will not get against the top teams.

Still outrageous to think Berbatov is a Fulham player. Said he was never not joining us either. Rumours of up to 3-4 more. Probably get in 2 though.

We'll take Essien, Chelsea! Diarra/Essien together again

lol he never said that at all!!

they asked him on sky before match about essien and he said he could go on loan but he didnt know anything about which clubs were involved

Oviedo has signed, 4 year contract, undisclosed fee, but its meant to be £2m up front going up to £5m.

Yeah he's not a winger and it shows, I am a little concerned as he was 7m but hopefully he will work out well.

Hammond should be the upgrade to Dale Stephens (remember him?) who's supposed to go to Villa for 2.5m! Neither are prem but Hammond will slot in well at Charlton.

Sharp is apparently only a loan, but he's 4th-5th choice with one striker spot it would be harsh to have him kicking about too much.

Amazing signing for Southampton!!

:D an hour in and I am still buzzing with excitement!
