I only ventured in here to have a poke around and see what kind of (relatively) quiet case fans people recommended to replace the supplied fans on my Mirage 62....
...then I and read the Hiper threads, now I'm scared witless of my Hiper 480, recommendations for a replacement ? was thinking the Corsair 520 ?

Hiper type-r 580w was reported to be more troublesome. Have one meself and it's ticking (no pun intended) along just fine.
 
Just echoing the current replies really, your current psu doesn't have anywhere near the same failure rate as the 580w model.

If you're looking for a replacement regardless of this fact then the Corsair 520w is definitely for you. I can confirm that it is a Seasonic unit but with higher quality/improved voltage regulators and the added bonus of modular connections.

But they do seem to have an unreasonably high failure rate, i've had 4 go out on me, 2 unexpected and 2 i kind of waited for the call, alerted all clients but they said they'd carry on with em. Have 5 more out there in the Wild.

Really only heard of the 580's popping though.

Don't be troubled with the 480, looks like they got the Wednesday production run, 580's were post Friday afternoon pub visit.
 
It did cut out on me yesterday without any warning (it was thinking back to that while reading the Hiper threads that set me panicking), which I'm guessing is either MB or PSU as everything else in the house stayed on and UPS didnt kick in.

Ok it just froze again, this time with graphical corruption in the top left hand corner of the screen, gpu temp was only 46 degrees at the time. Now Ive noticed that my Vcore seems to be all over the place in speedfan.
