All time best EPL team?

These threads are always the same. Somebody picks their side and everybody tells them that their opinion is wrong.

Anyway my 11:
----------Schmeichel
Dixon---Adams--Hyypia---Cole
Ronaldo-Keane--Gerrard--Pires
--------Henry--Shearer

The lack of a quality RB to have played in the league is pretty shocking.

Precisely, for example someone mentioned Matt Le Tissier earlier, someone who I think was incredibly skilled, but he didnt win medals.

I mentioned Le Tissier for no other reason than because I was thinking of amazingly talented players who never quite lived up to their potential - he seemed to be happy as the proverbial big fish in a small pond. He wouldn't (and didn't) make it into my team of the best EPL players but if you could afford the luxury of having him and accept that for half the time he'd be slouching about the pitch doing nothing then he could give you some sublime skill.

Yes hence the discription its embaressment, but hence the picture its yawning and bored.

Emotes are very very important to myself.

It might be best if you read it was you want to then, the emoticon is meant to be for embarrassment and I think that's how most people use it. Alternatively if there's a plug-in available for Firefox that allows you to substitute images you could change it for one that actually reminds you of embarrassment... :)

I suggest Liverpool Football Club.

Is this the XI best players or a team that would actually play well together? I'm going to assume it's the XI best individual players and say:

GK: Schmeichel
RB: Neville
CB: Adams
CB: Vidic
LB: Cole

RM: Ronaldo
CM: Keane
CM: Gerrard
LM: Giggs

CF: Henry
ST: Shearer

Bench:

Cantona
Vieira
Seaman
Terry
Van Nistelrooy

ST: Henry
ST: OGS or Berbatov

Might have some of the positions wrong, but I can't remember where every great player ever played :p

only just but I would pick Scholes over Gerrard (at their best)

cant imagine two firey charachters like Keane and Gerrard working together either...but it would be comical to see

Schmiechel is one of my favourite goalies of all time, followed closely by Seaman

Schmeichel

Winterburn Adams Vidic Dixon
Ronny Keane Scholes Giggs

Bergkamp Henry

An almost all Arsenal defence, an all Man united midfield and an Arsenal strike partnership, very interesting choice.

Yes I know the game is about opinions but Schmeichel is arguably the best keeper the world has ever seen let alone the EPL.

Reina rightly or wrongly is not even Spain's number one. Yes he is a good keeper but let us be honest, he is not one of historys greats like Schmeichel.

I know it's all opinion but how many of those who think reina is a better keeper than Schmeichel are Liverpool fans or actually witnessed all of Schmeichel's career at Man U? The man is a living legend - I await the flamage.

I found most of the positions easy to fill, I struggled for defence however. It depends somewhat on whether you want out and out defenders or those who can play a bit.

GK - Schmeichel
RB - G. Neville
CB - Adams
CB - Ferdinand
LB - Cole
RM - Ronaldo
CM - Keane
CM - Vieira
LM - Giggs
CF - Henry
CF - Shearer

Really struggled to fill that last CB spot. There has been some fine CB's over the years, could have been anyone from Staam, Carvalho, Terry to name a few, Ferdinand just gets the nod.

CM was also a tough one, Keane and Vieira together? Not sure about that, but this team was about the individuals not the collective.
