US: Almost Human

Just finished watching the first episode and i thought it was really good. Shows more promise than most of the new shows have for the past while.

There's another episode on tonight.

It brought Minka Kelly back into my life therefore it's already awesome :p

Seriously though the show was significantly better than I thought it would be. The robots aren't in your face irritating which I thought they would be as most shows make it like that and rather than make the main guy a bit like Data, ie, semi retarded, he was more like a normal guy with a few extra bits.

It looked surprisingly good as well, okay the trains didn't look fantastic but they looked a decent amount better than your usual roughly thrown in CGI crap in these shows. The general feel of the show was good, design of sets and cast is strong.

I was losing faith in the new season as most of the new shows have been pretty woeful and so many returning shows have been abysmal. The last ep of Modern Family was a complete disaster.

Really good pilot, I had no real expectation going into the first ep but expectations are pretty high for the second ep now.

A strong and solid if not amazing start, nice to see some money up on the screen with loads of CGI, not seen that amount since Caprica so at least the world is well realised and doesn't feel like a small show.

The two leads work great together and have a nice dynamic. Could be a lot of fun to watch. In all has lots of potential and look forward to see where it goes.

Second one was on already?

Minky kelly sex bot....... brain, I'm expecting a good dream tonight now, don't let me down.

In spoilers because I watched it stupid late last night and most people won't have seen it yet.

Some really funny bits, some a bit forced bits, stab in the leg then has to deal with child but wasn't too bad. Still liked it, wondered if it might be one of those shows that blows the cgi budget in one tries to never show anything techy/futuristic/cgi'd for the rest of the year. Still looked good, nothing glaringly stupid. It does feel quite Fringe/futuristic and then I realised a lot of people involved were involved with Fringe at some stage including the creator, which I think bodes very very well for the show(in terms of quality, maybe not popularity/support by bigwigs.

Seriously though, Minka Kelly sex bot.... changes christmas list.

Enjoying it so far, plots aren't the most original but lets be honest, there aren't many sci fi plots that haven't been explored before however the series didn't feel old to me so it's all good.

The interaction between kennex and dorian in my opinion is really good to, kind of reminds me of person of interest where the interaction of finch/reese is almost as important as the overall episode plot which isn't too surprising considering JJ Abrams involvement.

The biggest issue I have is that it's on Fox which almost guarantees it won't get past 1 season, they have a tendency to kill off the good series :(

watched the first two eps . pretty decent some nice touches in it seen a few blader runner things and other sci fi bits but thats to be expected .

noticed a few smart little things which a lower budget show or bad writer might of not added , which was good.

there are some cheezy type bits aswell but you do seem to get those with sci fi . dont know why :p

over all quite refreshing a bit different and enjoyed the episodes upto yet.
