US: Almost Human

It's just fallen right into that "villain of the week" mould. And I'm not sure if I like that. I'd prefer something more arc driven...

I'll stick with it though because for what it is, it's good.

Hopefully they develop an arc story as well but they need a few "here is some actual good police work going on" bits to it too. I think Castle is kind of the target most people go for, season of 24 eps with a case each episode, but 4-5 eps a year end up being cases linked to the over riding arc. KKK killer or the mums murder. Castle has gone all kinds of crap lately though and it's not the best show ever to start with, it was enjoyable to watch though.

It's this kind of thing that tends to sustain more series than the entirely focused on a long arc which never ever ever seems to finish like Lost, or which has no underlying story at all. I assume the arc is finding the ex girlfriend, then why he was set up and moving on to going after that group of criminals. We'll probably see a bit like Castle, something every few eps that links the case they investigate to the other story line.

I watched the first episode last night. The concept was cool, but the foresight is terrible. Why set the story 35 years into the future if technology and culture are going to be exactly like they are right now, the only difference being AI in human-form?

The cars reminded me of Robocop, but instead of a 1987 Ford Taurus painted matte black, they used a 2013 Ford Fusion painted matte black. That's what they will be like 35 years from now, I'm sure. Projectile weapons have made no advancements. Media displays are the same -- oh, except for the laser "Police Line Do Not Cross" ribbon used in Eureka 8 years ago. And just the same "all-seeing, all-knowing" computer tech used in hundreds of movies and TV shows for the last 20 years.

They could set the storyline in present time, having the androids being just introduced to the public and presented as though they have been with us for several years now but nobody knew about it until they saw one with his face shot off, and the story would still be exactly the same.

Otherwise, cool concept. :)

2nd episode is actually the 5th episode btw they are airing out of order until episode 7

I guess ep 2/3/4/6/7 are crap :P and they wanted to get a decent ep out fast :S

Fox are just retarded. I didn't mention it but I did think they got all buddy buddy way too quickly, the balls thing was quite funny, but wasn't quite right.

My guess is someone at fox in charge of these decision went "sex bots.... really, sex bots, and minky kelly walking around the office in a thin t-shirt with her boobs sticking out looking great....... that will keep show retention up, lets put that one next.

I think mostly they are looking for a strong start, and don't really get that first week figures aren't possible, and when you watch the first 7 episodes and rate them in order, all you do is show the audience the show is getting worse every single week..... which puts them off.

What an utterly stupid thing to do!

firefly was fox?
fringe was fox? although I think that was only one episode?

I remember people wondering why someone who was supposed to be dead was alive again?

EDIT:
seems I was right

What? Charlie’s back? No, silly rabbit. This episode of Fringe was originally supposed to air in season 1 as episode 21. Thus I’m not going to give it the complete recap as it falls out of sequence with the rest of the series. It’s so bad, there’s a dead character in it.
LOL

Wow, they are really airing them in the wrong order? What a stupid thing to do, especially given their past record with this stunt.

I did wonder how they seemed really pally compared to Ep 1.

Oh, wonderful.

That'll explain the sudden change in relationship between the two of them from awkward to pally, and the lack of mention of anything to do with Insyndicate, and not following on with the plot setup from the pilot with the synthetic head that was in the evidence box...

Bah, didn't like much of the what I would assume is really the second episode, it's frankly woeful.

It's so, boring and setup and the end of it is awful.

I HATE that thing where, okay the two guys are up with the hostages, oh and it's day time. Then they switch to a scene down outside the building, it's suddenly night and they do the "so, you're the guy who saved me" bit... they were a couple of metres apart 25 floors up, but hours later they "meet" each other outside. The bubblegum..... seriously, I mean, seriously?

Then the clapping back in the office. It's like some retarded kid of a network exec was asked to write an episode or something.

The first and.. whatever ep the second one aired was, were good, without too much awfulness, the one i just watched was almost completely awful. Even the general premise, a huge lock down and all for a heist, yet, it was such a boring heist and boring attack. A bomb at the beginning, a shot, then standing around for ages. Talking to a scared girl.

After that ep, I can fully understand Fox dropping that down the order. People watch the first ep, then either like it and watch the second ep, or didn't like it but give it another ep to see if it improves. If that was the second ep they'd have lost a hell of a lot more viewers.

Other than them becoming friendly so quickly i doubt many of you would have noticed the episodes being out of order. Apart from the first episode its just been another bad guy of the week show.

With two episodes you wouldn't, with 3 ordering becomes much more obvious, it's VERY obvious that the new episode was before the second one, and is likely the second episode(though could be later). With 6 episodes(apparently) of which 5 are out of order, after watching the 6th episode it would probably be pretty easy to put them in order. Even with just the two episodes and no way of knowing they were out of order, it was clear there was something off with the episode, and when told they were aired out of order this explained the feel of the episode instantly. So many people did notice the problem, just didn't know the cause straight away.

However the 3rd aired episode, but really the 2nd actual episode(most likely) was just crap.

No we probably wouldn't but I think most of would have noticed something strange. The flow of the characters for one.
