Alternatives to Coolermaster Wavemaster

OcUK have shipped a few 007's as PC7+'s.

Raikiri may be able to clear it up.

The most recent models are the PC7+II and the PC007.

Exactly the same case bar the fans, both have mountings for the blower fan and the new badge. II has ADDA blacks, and the 007 has the blue LED fans.

Both as good as each other, but the ADDA fans are a fair bit better as fans, but if you want silent you will have to replace them either way.

And on the SilenX front, no manufacturer gives proper DB readings, thermaltake used to have a 18db fan at 5000rpm :p

SilenX work for me personally, and I have used a lot, got some with a case and tried them out, they were great, so I keep using them, miles better than anything else I have tried at 80mm in the 201 style casings.

All,

Some pictures would be mucho handy in my decisions...I love the looks of the Wave and think its a lovely case, but just cant put my finger on which one to pick!

I know pple say the Wave is poor for cooling compared to say the Lian-Li, but how much worse?! Obviously if I intended on overclocking eventually I would replace the retail CPU fan with something more substantial, or is it recommended that I get a new CPU cooling solution straight away? Thinking of running a X2 4400+ on Asus mobo.

The new AMD 64's run very cool anyways - if you buy a decent cooler you'll be running it way cooler than dangerous levels - and the cooling sure its not as good as the Lian Li, but its not exactly bad neither, just something to mention, i'll take some pics of my case but has some marks/fingerprints I need to wash off lol.

Wavermaster= Positive
Very nice quality. Great Looking.

Negative = Really bad cooling. Noisy fans, vibrating hard drives. Cramped workspace. Annoying door design.

Seriously- I spent over 100gbp just trying to cool my one of these. By the time I got it cool it was so noisy I gave it away.
Got a mountain Mods Cube and never looked back.
My mate bought the P180 for a fraction of the cost and it is soo much better.

If I went tower again i'd go Lian-Li

:)

Thats a nice case, I put some cathods in there but it totally drowned out the UV - the UV stuff was still bright but you couldnt tell it was down to the UV and not the Cathodes so I'm just getting one more UV.
Theres actually a nice purple glow but when I use the camera at night it picks it up as a weird blue glow and it doesnt actually show what its like.

How did you manage to spend over 100GBP cooling it lol, All you really need is 4X80mm zalman or vantec stealth fans.

It is based on a 201 chassis, for me to get what I consider the ultimate cooling and no noise out of it in air on a Socket A or 939 rig it would cost me around £90 to get it silent.

I am really tempted to see how quiet I can get mine now :p
