Am I being scammed? (SSD drive question )

UK eBay will side with him regardless as he's a buyer, however, you can still get the parent companies (US eBay) customer service to over-rule UK eBay (may take some time).

I had to do this for a set of electronic drums which the buyer admitted taking apart causing them to fail and yet UK eBay agreed that it was my fault and refunded him out of my money without any proof given that the drums were even faulty (no pics, nothing). US eBay over-ruled this a week later and returned my money and the guy never returned the "faulty" drums either before UK eBay refunded him.

I won't use eBay as a seller now because of this.

If the samsung has warrenty left over and he is refusing to return it to you without a refund for the "faulty" ssd to be replaced under warrenty. It would take a fool to not see this as a scam.

Since your using ebay though, it's more than likely you will have to kiss goodbye to the money and the SSD.

Doesnt Ebay see what is going on right under their noses or is it a matter that they just dont care about sellers getting ripped off?

They make there money and it seems like that is all that matters to them. Ebay + Paypal are crooks, sellers have no chance these days and it's a real shame how honest people time after time are getting abused by dishonest people, makes my blood boil watching honest people lose out

exactly, 20 days after he replies and now hes worried about time?

paid for pc engineer for check an ssd which cost him £87 which he could have sent back to samsung for free and got a replacement

£87! Wow, there really is some stupid people out there....

Yeah it's called the Members market, but you don't have enough posts to get access to it at the moment. There's no selling outside the Members market. Check the FAQ. ;)

Yeah I got busted the other week for this :p

An opportunity presented itself where I offered a graphics card to sell to someone and as I dont visit these forums enough I completely overlooked and forgot the rules, got a few days suspension for it :o

Having sold plenty of goods over at the MM forum I really should have known better but sometimes things don't click until it's too late and then bam, suspension from nowhere!

just make sure you get the item back first before refunding.
as many have said, i always make sure i get as much info from a device before sending it and if not i make a tiny mark using an uv pen - just a dot and take a picture.
then if they send it me back for whatever reason i will know if it was mine or not.

i had someone send me back an xbox 360 i sold, saying rrod..
got the item back and they had sent me some faulty xbox 360 back, not same serial/no uv mark etc
told ebay and provided all the serials/mac address and also the uv mark, they sided with me..
i kept my money, they kept the working 360 and i got a free faulty 360 which i sold as spares :)

These days i wouldn't sell anything on ebay without video of its condition prior to sending and notes of all serials/markings; hell i even videod an item before returning it to argos in case it was damaged in transit and they tried to blame me.

I just sold a monitor.

Listed it as spares/repair, but in the listing said that it worked OK, supplied pictures of it working, and welcomed viewing before bidding. Cash on collection.

Was surprised at the price it sold for, local chap came round, picked it up, no problems.

Whats the URL, its possible you could look up its registered owner, would look weird if its the same guy

Read a few horror storys about people selling Hardware on ebay from here recently, personaly i've never had any problems, but don't think i'll be selling anything again on there in the future, they always side with the buyer.
Hope you get your drive back in a good state and Samsung replace's it for you anyhow.
