If money is no object go for the E6300.

E4300 and budget ram >> saves you money
E6300 requires more expensive ram to overclock
Not true, you just run the Ram unlinked with the CPU, ive got Value ram in my rig in sig, didnt stop me from hitting 3.4 ghz.
Im in the same situation as you. I was very tempted by the E6300, but they are the same chip just lower FSB on the E4300.
Not true, different chip entirely, i havnt seen many 4300's that get much above 3 ghz without a bucket load of VCore.
6300 however can push to well over 3.2ghz with decent cooling.

How are they different? The E6300 and E4300 are both Allendale (no more E6300's are Conroe). They both have the same L2 (2mb). Just the FSB on the E6300 is higher but that can be fixed in the E4300 with pin mod.

Its stated on here somewere, i cant remember where.
Ultimately, if your Mobo can hit high FSBs then generally the 6300 will get higher clocks, if not then the higher Multi of the 4300 will help.

You dont particularly 'need' it, but it is better to get one with 1333fsb because it will support more cpu's like the Kentsfield Quad Core. I dont think it aids in overclocking, but all C2D motherboards should be 1066fsb or more. Bios updates can also be used to support higher FSB. The DS3 got one anyway that allowed it to support Kentsfield processors.

Do i need a MB with 1333MHz FSB for better/easier OC?
Take some advice from the MB forum on what MB to get, some are a little funny about certain C2D's, it seems that some cpu's are picky about certain VCores, so are some mobos as well.
DS3/DS4 and the mobo i have in Sig are popular choices and easy to OC.
