Cant find any AM3 (800 Chipset) mobos with more than 4 Dimms on OCUK?? or am i just being a noob
 
i will have 8gb in there, thats fine. will use 4DIMMS, But soon enough applications will become more demanding on the ram side of things.

I haven't come across any (or many) application that pushes the total system memory footprint over than 2GB, in Linux. Nothing in Windows is even close to maxing out 4GB. I wouldn't worry.
 
You could always buy a 2x4GB kit, they are a bit more expensive than a 4x2GB kit and not quite as fast, but they would give you more expandability in the future.

Alternatively, get an X58 board like this which has 6 RAM slots :)

However, as has already been stated - unless you are doing very high res photo work or running multiple VMs then you will hardly ever need more than 4GB.
 
Good ideas mate, Being fair, i do a lot of large res photo editing etc. and i do run vm's

and being fair, just to say that i have a **** hench rig :)
