The teamgroup is on offer today only so be quick for a bargain. There is a 14400 Geil kit in there simply because it was priced close to the 12800mhz kits (is out of stock though). The difference in CAS from 9 to 11 makes little odds in the realworld, lower is technically better though.

I did a range of modules as you might want to colour co-ordinate the RAM to the mobo. The secret to overclocking the Phenoms is to actually lower the multiplier and increase the CPU FSB. This overclocks the RAM too, google some guides there are plenty available :D

I went through 'Dolks guide' as a refresher (not sure if you're aware of it?) but he basically says as It's a BE to just use the multiplier and I've upped the CPU NB to around 2400MHz... seems to have worked although I will need to have a good read into it all again when the new chip arrives :D

As far as 460s are concerned look for the usual suspects. The MSI Hawk was known to be good. I have the EVGA 1GB superclocked which has a 256bit mem interface. They did a F.T.W edition which was factory overclocked higher but used the 192bit mem interface which isn't as good technically. Finding a 256bit 460 could be a struggle though
 
The 460 was better than the 560, it was only the 560Ti that made a real difference. Then there was the 560Ti "448 edition" which was a cutdown 570. For what these cost now you might as well go with a 2GB 7850 and cop the free games.

As I said finding a 256bit 1GB 460 might be hard the 192bit is much more common. There are new beta drivers (310.33) from nvidia which made a noticable difference to my rig ;)
 
2x 4gb modules totalling 8gb.

It is quality ram at stock speed of 1600mhz it will run at 7-7-7-21 timings without a voltage bump.

Paired with my i3 550 it does 1830mhz with ease, and has been as far as 1960mhz at 1.55v @ 9-9-9-24, stock is 1.5v so never been abused with high voltages. Rock solid stable with no issues at all.

It has been run at stock speed of 1600mhz for 99.7% of it's life in service.

I still have the original packaging.

Now £40 inc postage via BT/PPG. Close offers looked at.

I guess realistically I ought to stick on the 460 trail. I've found 2 EVGA 460 1Gb superclocked GPU's for sale... Fingers crossed
