**AM4 COMPATIBLE COOLERS**

Thank you for checking. Going to order now.
I already have a brand new nh d15se, but can't live with those colours!
What are your temps like?
Ryzen 1700 idling at 27c with no overclocks or voltage adjustments. CPU frequency is jumping up and down as well in some form of power save mode I guess.

34c, browsing the web. Updating drivers etc.

Got the mounting kit today and I was able to mount the K2 cooler on an AM4 Ryzen board.

Only needed the new bolts from the mounting kit as the small brackets for horizontal fan direction are the same as the am3 ones that came with the cooler originally..... The vertical brackets are different but who mounts that way anyway.

Excellent! Thanks for keeping us updated. Interesting all that's really needed is the stand-offs.

No problem. Thought it was worth a £2 punt rather then buying a new cooler.

Surprised it work after what Alpenföhn support told me

"there is no possibility to mount the cooler "K2" on an AM4 Ryzen.
Additionally we do not have an adaptor to make it possible."

What motherboard do you have?
Did you use the stock AM4 backplate?

MSI Mortar b350. It came with a backplate on the board already. Screwed in the new screws from the mounting kit. Put the small bracket ontop (either original or new), then put the little flat nut ontop from original mounting kit (these will already be on your motherboard so you won't have lost them)
There was a bit of space between screw plug and bottom of screw but the CPU fills that space. This had me confused for 20mins whilst I was trying to check if the cooler fitted.

Does anyone know if Kraken X62 AIO 280mm or any of Corsair's Hydro Series 240/280mm are AM4 compatible out-of-the-box? I bought an Evga CLC 280mm AiO and that was the biggest mistake I could do - no AM4 bracket in the box and it is now two weeks and my "free AM4 bracket" hasn't still arrived. I contacted Evga support twice but they don't seem to give a **** so I am returning it and buying something else.

I've not been overly impressed with my X62. For example you don't appear to be able to save the pump/fan profiles into the unit so it always starts in "quiet" mode which doesn't perform as well as a tweaked profile which is just as quiet.

The software is a bit clunky (see the web for comments on it).

Something like an Eisbaer would be worth looking at too I think.

Yes, it was my first option too but price put me off. Went with that Evga cooler for almost £40 less. The reviews were good as well, just can't understand that missing AM4 bracket in the box, that's bad.
Why do you need such a powerful loop?

Hey bud I'm also part of the rare breed that owns K2s.

Can you explain what you mean that verticle brackets don't work? Do you have pictures?

Not sure he said they didn't work...

In general you install the K2 so that the airflow goes from the front of the case to the back of the case, that's what the short bars allow.

The long bars let you instead rotate the cooler 90 degrees so that the airflow will go from bottom of the case to top (or top to bottom depending how you clip the fans).
