Amanda Knoxx retrial

Well from what I hear the police basically tortured her to give info under duress, that in itself is the reason she should be set free, especially with zero DNA evidence.

Its not exactly great justice when there is zero evidence to say she did it.

The case was very badly handled by authorities, the media vilified Knoxx to the extent that she was guilty before the trial began. Sadly I think getting the truth, the whole truth, has been made impossible

Even though she is getting a retrial... She'll be guilty again. They'll make sure she is guilty.

I thought you couldn't be retried if you had already had a legitimate aquittal?

Also, if she's in the US can the US government refuse to hand her over if they feel a retrial is unfair?

They were going to make a movie about her, originally, they were going to cut the murder scene, maybe they should put it back in now :)

She will never be handed over to the Italian authorities. The US government wont permit it.

Do you think she's guilty or not? I reckon she is.

I reckon that not one of us here has close to enough facts to make that decision.

It always rankles my chain a little that people will pre-judge the guilt or innocence of someone who is standing trial, based entirely on second or third-hand reports from the media (which are, more often than not, sensationalist and designed to sell papers).

Leave it to the jury.

Surely they've had the chance to convict her, completely screwed it up and must accept this? How is it possible to prove whether she did or not at this late stage given all thats gone before?

I believe the wording is it has to be a 'final' verdict. The appeals process was still in progress so this is fine.

If ive understood things correctly.
