Amanda Knox and her Ex found guilty of the Murder of Medredith Kercher

I didn't doubt she wouldn't be found guility to be honest. The evidence was against her case from the very beginning, and she didn't help herself by making it even more obvious with her perculier behaviour and changes to her side of the story.

1 years difference so that they will not hook up the moment they both get released -- the first one released has a year to move on and find new friends and start a new life without the other one.

Quite often they do it that way ....

Saw her smiling in court today, considering your fate resulted you would think she was a big nervous, she is loopy. As said the alibis of the pair were stupid.

I'm not sure how parole works in the Italian Law System. Is it like in the UK where if your a good boy/girl during your murder sentence you end up getting several years sliced off the end of the sentence?

"The court ordered them to pay 1m euros to Miss Kercher's mother and the same amount to her father. "

What you have to pay for murder now as well?

How are they going to make money in prison :/

Shame the UK system isn't like that.

We'll just have to grin and bare the 'Slap on the Wrist' system instead.

No, she was sentenced to other crimes, thus an extra year.

Absolutely fantastic news! I hope she and her boyfriend suffer hell in some grimy Italian prison.

BBC and Sky doing a good un-biased view of this case and CNN are going nuts that an American is guilty and apparently calling Italian Justice system inferior.

Damn, I honestly expected because of her American status the Italians would let her off and she'd be on the Oprah Winfrey show within 6 months talking about her "ordeal".

She always struck me as a 'move it pov's, im an american' cartman style type, looking like she thought the Italians owed her a release just on her nationality never mind the evidence.

I've read a lot of the BBC News articles on this case. I got the impression that Amanda Knox was doing a stereotypical Yank abroad thing, doing stuff she thought she could get away with because it wasn't done at home in the US. I think there's more to this case than is known.
