Amazed!

The first video is very impressive indeed.

Being a time-served wood machinist I can see that invention being widely implemented, and making him a huge pile of money in the process.

I remember being told years ago that it takes something like half a second for you to react to getting your finger caught, in which time you have been cut somewhere in the region of 300,000 times.

I don't think your finger would have to actually touch it either, I'm not sure but with it being static would it arc? I guess you wouldn't want to be earthed.

My woodwork teacher had the end of 2 of his fingers missing...

This is impressive, but Who cuts wood by moving there finger at 0.1mm per second? The saw seem to move a few teeth before actually halting... If seems to me that if you were moving your hand through the mech with a bit of wood it MAY not be quick enough to prevent a cut at least?

I'd rather have a cut, than no finger.

And if your cutting wood one a saw like that, at a fast speed, then you literally are a plank.

Didnt the lead guitarist of black sabbath lose the tips of two of his fingers in a woodwork accident? He used to use cigar butts or something but eventually got something professional.

Tony Iommi is legend :D Not quite sure what happened to his finger tips but the guys is still quality without them :)

Impressive, inventions like this are great, it's simple enough in theory but no one seems to have thought of it or bothered to make it before, you can see his design is really good as well.

What's this second video some mention?
