I’d love to get some smart lights to integrate with Alexa, but I’ve just struggled to justify the cost to myself.

We've had a few different types, but the Ikea Tradfri ones work really well. But they are all edison screw fittings.
Not the cheapest out there, but sync nicely to the app and the echo. Dimming is good, colour change works, plus the remotes for them are really quite nice. The dimmer is particularly good, runs off an accelerometer so works when held in the hand and not attached to anything. Recently added a couple of power sockets too, not as good as the Wemo Insights we have elsewhere, but they are 1/5th of the price.

Alexa, got 2 Echos and two dots now, Just invested in Hue lighting for 2/3 of the house and it also integrates with my Harmony remote.
