Amazon going downhill?

Everyone stop bashing Amazon, I put £200 worth of credit card and Quidco voucher in there not so long ago and am banking on using them at some point :p

I think what takes the p now is that they push you towards paying for postage as their free delivery takes 5 days to prepare an item for dispatch. I haven't bought from them for ages now and the other day I had to buy a very small item. Took exactly 7 days to receive on their free delivery. Quite disappointing as before the free delivery was nearly just as good as the first class equivalent.

That was never going to be a sustainable business idea, at the end of the day they're there to make money not to act as a charity.

What I think he means to say is that they seem to be purposefully delaying the dispatch of orders that choose the Super Saver option to create a more artificial difference between them.

The same answer applies, they're a business of course they want you to pay for the service and if you want it quick then that's your option.
If you don't like it vote with your feet (mouse) and shop somewhere else.

I assumed that the "free 5 day delivery" that Amazon (as well as a well known OcUK competitor) offers was a case of, they'll prep it that day like anything else, and then throw it onto the first daily delivery that has some space in the quota, up to a maximum of 5 days.

What spoffle said. Before the free saver delivery was much quicker.
You will find the same items sold else where for the same/lower price with quicker free delivery. So they're not exactly doing anyone a favour.

just to be clear there is no "free" delivery - you have paid some of it in the price but equally they will be using low priority mail services to deliver it to you for "free"

Amazon has become much more about convenience than cost effectiveness - which is great for me as I'm not bothered about paying a little over the odds to get what I want, when I want it, but not so great for people who want the lowest price they can possibly pay for something.

This thread is hilarious. Complaining about how good the free delivery is and in fact, being too quick to package your parcel!

If you dont like the service, vote with your feet and shop somewhere else. The reality is, you'll probably keep ordering from Amazon for the convenience and in fact, that makes you part of the problem. This whole thread just sounds like a bunch tantrums being thrown because you're not getting everything for the cheapest possible price, delivered for free, with next/two day delivery.

Amazon and prime have been a god send tbh. Although I've never paid for prime, they do give you a lot of free trials throughout the year.

With Marketplace sellers I've found that they often have their own sites/shops, and that if you buy direct you often get the item cheaper and with better T&C's than going through Amazon.

So Marketplace seems to be nothing but a huge con, really.

You often find exactly the same seller on eBay selling exactly the same item for quite a bit less. People complain about eBay seller fees but its nothing compared to Amazon's.
